Yes it’s a shift. And I blame the left’s tactics that ironically divided people they were saying they are fighting for.
What I am saying is an issue is voting for policies that directly worse for you just because of frustration to how left and libs act. It is less about what directly effects us all and just simplified to tribal wars between right and left.
So far right plays on that to overshadow a lot of power authoritarian shit and there’s plenty of evidence of this.

I live in a society yes. But there are some people who do not deserve assistance. Those who simply leech -- whilst not having anything truly wrong with them to warrant support. I know plenty who COULD work. Who SHOULD work. Who have actively BRAGGED that they're not that ill, but they can get away with it but they do. These sorts of programmes incentivize sedentary behaviours. I know it because I grew up in some of the worst neighbourhoods in England, and saw it first-hand.
It's actually a dream of mine to live off-grid. But that isn't actually possible in most places anyway. The government will always find you and tax you, even if you do not rely on their services. I have enough finances that I have private healthcare now. I've never called the police (not that they can be trusted in this country). The roads in my country are shit. Yet my money goes to SOME layabouts. I am happy to support those who are in need, but I prefer to do it through charities rather than government mandated programmes that are designed to take as much money as possible with the intent to skim some off the top.
Ultimately, I don't think the current system of social welfare is particularly fair. I wish there was an opt-out clause.
