This boring cover story only reinforces my feeling that there may be a big family reunion of the Charlotte Family with Lola, Chiffon and Pound being included, at Elbaf.

Lola and/or Chiffon (who did a real nasty thing to Pound) may end up catpured by Loki's minions and taken to Elbaf with Pound following to try to save her/them and finally be recognised as their father and with Mama and the rest of the family following once Wano arc is over.

- Kiku killed Kanjuro like we thought from last chapter

- The scabbards and all of the alliance have gathered in front and behind Kaido as planned

- Zoro and Kid still killing gifters

- Law and his crew have arrived in the main hall

- Luffy taking off Yamato’s cuffs and arriving with her right in front of Kaido and the Calamities

- Then finally the chapter ending with the Scabbards attacking Kaido and the Commanders

- The War on Onigashima has officially begun and all the big players are front and centre.

- Also no break which is great news as well.

Side note - I wont be surprised if we get to the next chapter and Oda shows that Kinemon and Denjiro were unable to pierce Kaido’s body with their swords basically showing us the fans again just how hard it is for Kaido to be cut.

I'm thinking of him saving the alliance by betraying Luffy.

This allows Kaido to leave Onigashima and go to the capital ( new Onigashima) .

Oden failed to knock out Kaido in a surprise slash on his slow Zoan form and then a 20 years weaker Kaido one shot Oden in a surprise attack.
The most these 7 guys can do to Kaido with a surprise attack is disarm a weapon he doesn't care about.

kaido remembering the man who almost killed him , seems like if kaido didnt cheat, oden would have done a lot more.
oden suprise attack didnt need a hostage to do so. kaido just has bad awareness/coo as he has shown again this chap.
