CoC: Color of Clowns

Force Choke the Chicken
Everything was fine until you got to the stupid dumb incest shipping and the dumb foursome.

Serously wtf, I think you're reading the wrong Oshi no Ko.

Also I highly doubt all of that god stuff is going to happen.

164 spoilers semi confirms that Aqua died, and there are only two more chapters left. 165 will either confirm that Aqua truly died or if it's a fake out and he survived.

Also because there are only two more chapters left, I don't think Aka will have enough time to fit all the god stuff.
I like Ruby, Kana, and Akane a lot, and it's clear Aqua has some degree of romantic feelings for all of them.

Aqua "dying" in the public eye, but then changing his identity and dying his hair to be black, like Goro, would be a nice twist, too. That way, he could "retire" as an actor, and become a doctor again.

Yep, calling it: Aqua is alive.

AI/God brought him back to life.

Just as Aqua appears to be totally dying, we get a panel that looks like hair/light in darkness.

Next, we can see a Star shining directly over Ruby. This represents AI, the Idol/Star watching over Ruby, her other child, as AI watches Aqua drown.

Who is AI referred to in the OP of Oshi No Ko, IDOL?

"[Miss] ingenious, godly idol
(You're my savior, you're my saving grace)"

"Drawing everyone's eyes
You are the perfect, ultimate idol
Never to appear again
A reincarnation of Venus"

The Star we see is the Goddess of Love, Venus, the "Star" or, planet Venus. The Light in this chapter is literally the light of Venus, the Goddess of Love/Ai (as Ai means love in Japanese).

Aqua says he can hear a song; I suspect this is Ai singing to him. Just as Aqua comforted AI as she died, Ai is comforting Aqua as he dies.

However, despite being in the deep ocean, we suddenly see a mass amount of light above Aqua: this represents both the light of Venus/Ai, as well as the fisherman's search light.

We know from this arc that Crow Girl is a great actress. IMO, Crow Girl alerted a local fishermen to Aqua's predicament. Something along the lines of "OH MY GOSH, MY BROTHER FELL INTO THE OCEAN, PLEASE, PLEASE GO LOOK FOR HIM, MR. FISHERMAN! WAHHHHHHHH!"

Aqua was saved just as he was drowning by someone. After being saved, Aqua faked his own death in order to escape the consequences of what happened with Hikaru. If he was still alive, he would be questioned, and there's a good chance his story would fall apart.

By faking his death, Aqua can "escape" the idol industry, once and for all. There was no body presented, it was only stated the body was "in good condition."

We didn't see Ruby in this chapter, because Crow Girl contacted Ruby and told her she saved Aqua, and that if they both fake their deaths, Ruby and him can be with each other. By "dying", the twin Idols are able to love each other, while "lying" and pretending to be totally new identities. Even possible they could get witness protection into this.

The people Aqua/Ruby trust will be informed they're still alive, and they get to live out their lives "lying" while being together.

The entire basis of this series is that lies are love. This is the last great lie Ai's kids will pull off of the industry, and make their film and B-Komachi legends that actually change the Idol Industry

Ai being murdered by Hikaru, a child rape victim, only for Hikaru to then kill one of their children, Aqua, who was trying to protect the other kid, Ruby, from him, with Ruby then DYING AFTERWARDS would be a GIANT black mark on the Idol Industry that would lead to actual changes, IMO.

Excited for the last two chapters.

This has got to be the laziest string of chapters in recent times besides JKK. This man Aka has no idea how to end this series. The pacing is just horrible, and it really does seem like Aka just lost the plot and never knew where he was going with Aqua's character. This last chapter feels like a cheap cop out in order to give Aqua a swift ending without truly exploring his character. There's no redemption, no real lessons learned, and for some weird reason we're using Akane as the POV character.

Truly disappointing. This shit fell off harder than JJK and AOT.

Shoutout to Mem-Cho for getting one million subs lol.

Other than my favorite Mem-Cho, Akane my other favorite character, really ended up kind of carrying the series till the very end.

As for that final chapter, what a trash ending, like wtf.
All that romance subplot was for nothing, Aqua went from being a great character to a fucking moron who ended his life, and him ending his life just made things worse for everyone including his own sister.

With the exception of Akane, most of the other characters were all wasted, Kana and Ruby both got screwed over especially Ruby.

Ruby pretty much becomes Ai 2.0 which is not a good thing, and also poor Kana fans, at the end Kana never went out with Aqua or even kissed him and her character barely got that much focus.

Not only Akane but even fucking Ruby kissed Aqua.💀 (Although that was only because of the movie).

Meanwhile Kana who seemed like the main love interest ended up getting nothing.

The main villain went from being really interesting to just another character that was wasted.

I think it's fine to have a tragic ending and even kill off one of your main characters, but it needs to be done where it makes sense and still have a somewhat satisfying conclusion, this unfortunately was not it.

It seems like Aka wanted Aqua's death to have the same shocking plot twist that Ai's death had in the beginning, but to me it ended up failing.

Also what the fuck was the point of the crow girl? She really ended up being a useless character.

Now do I regret reading the series? As much as I hate the ending, no I don't regret reading the series. Despite how I feel about the final arc, I still believe that the first several arcs were really great and enjoyable.

Either way, what a trash ending for a series that started off really strong but unfortunately went downhill.
