I think Loki is one those guys that thinks World=Home Nation(Elbaf).
Oh yeah, I think you may be right about that. And I think his power is probably overexaggerated in a sense - we'll have to see what his role will be.

I was more thinking about the line from a meta perspective. It's odd to me to introduce another 'End-of-the-World' as a potential plot point, when just around ten chapters ago the story pretty plainly introduced the ACTUAL main 'End-of-the-World' plot point. That was, at least in my mind, supposed to drive the story to get to its finale, but now it seems like the story has already forgotten about it.

As much as we can meme as readers about how pointless a lot of Vegapunk's speech was for us, in-universe it is the biggest deal ever. The stakes can't get much higher, but what kind of dialogue have we had from the Straw Hats about it? Pretty much nothing. That just creates a strange tone for me, as much as I may enjoy some of the panels this chapter.

Well there were rumors in the japanese community about Elbaf arc being a last minute decision and Oda originally wanting to skip it even after Wano concluded. Provided this is true (which is a big if) it's highly possible Elbaf adds 3-4 extra years to the Oda's 5 year final saga ending plan.
Oda did make a statement about forcing Luffy to go to Elbaf too. He didn't say Elbaf but he did imply it and the SHs were planning to go to Elbaf with Stella ofc:

If he had skipped Elbaf, it would be the most unforgivable thing he ever did storywise regardless. Absolutely unforgivable.

There is also a different interpretation of this, beside the place. That route could also mean that he meant to take another way how they reach elbaf, like dorry and broggy not arriving in egghead for example or them actually not making it out egghead safely

I think it's simply a fun way for Oda to say "I wanted to write the end of One Piece, but Luffy said no and he went to Elbaf regardless" Hence showing that Luffy's will influence Oda's writing.

He did that already went talking about how he is not planning stuff and the characters just do whatever the hell they want based on their personnalities.

In other words, characters are making Oda write the story and not the opposite. I like this poetic vision of storytelling

Could be, oda rarely sticks to his own plans

Imho, Erbaf was already going to be a key point.

Most likely he saw it from Roger and learned more from Oharas research.

Crackpot theory would be the D stands for dragon and Luffy will learn it from a real dragon that Scoppers been taking care of that hatched from the egg on the oro Jackson explaining why the ship is black and Scoppers burned to fuck
Roger ate that egg

Of course. You guyz do not understand what I'm saying.

Oda is speaking in a poetic words here. He is saying that it's his characters that makes the story on their own, not him.

It's a way to to say that the characters of One Piece are just so exceptionnal that they create their own story.

:optimistic:
