The left hand of the Pirate King, Scopper Gaban:
It will be revealed that after Roger’s death and the disbandment of the crew, he set fire to the Orojackson to conceal the ship and in doing so also let the fire burn himself to conceal his identity - ‘man with the burn scar’. Furthermore, I think it will be revealed that the egg on the ship, is actually a massive Seaking which hatched after Roger’s death and now travels under the ship (which allows Gaban to move the ship without a crew) and also creates the whirlpools which sink any ship that comes close to them. It will be revealed that Gaban was tasked with protecting the last Road Poneglyph by Roger until the arrival of Joy Boy.

Why was Gaban tasked with this instead of Rayleigh?

Well Rayleigh and Shakky got married and settled down so Roger didn’t want to burden them with the responsibility of the ship, the road poneglyph, and the Sea King?

The only important piece of information from this chapter that we should remember is that you can sail on a rainbow, which you can draw with whatever painter is... Straight up pulled out of his ass but the way he presented those panels, this will be used in future.
idk why i'm getting this feeling, but that rainbow page made me think about laugh tale and having to do something crazy like that to get to it

this website fucking sucks, holy shit, did anyone post it to cubari or imgur or something?
i don't see it anywhere else, i heard that tcb were prioritising hunter x hunter since its return? so probably why their OP translation is delayed

I wouldn't even have a problem with Elbaph being this long.

However, it should have a tight pacing and tie into the finale throughout.

What does Oda do?

He just spent 7 chapters - almost three months in real time - on some random lego sideplot that was executed very poorly on top of it (countless drawing and consistency errors) and his standard "crew divides and explores" yada-yada.
Yonko saga kicks off at FMI from around 600 with Luffy taking away a territory from an emperor, it ends at around 1057 or so. Basically over 450 chapters after. Encompassing three large arcs in Dressrosa, WCI and Wano. With 2 medium ones in Punk Hazard and FMI. 1 short one in Zou.

The Final Saga going 500-600 chapters, 100 or 200 more than the Yonko Saga shouldn't be surprising.

So that amount of chapters in mind, the pace is pretty fine.

The rainbow is not pulled out of his ass. It’s part of Norse mythology that goes between Midgar and Asgar.

I honestly cannot tell if that final line is basically Oda saying "Settle in, we're gonna be in Elbaph for a LOOOONG time" or if he's saying "Don't expect the Strawhats to stick around too long guys, we got places to be". Because I can read it both ways.

The fact that it so nicely parallels the scene with the ship falling from the sky from Skypeia (c218) with Willie Gallon/Wily Karen is kind of making me think it's going to be a longer arc. (I kind of wonder if Louis Arnot is part of the same crew as Willie?)

But, we kind of blazed through the "Underworld" portion of Elbaph, already. And, for as nice as that double page spread is, the "Sun" portion actually looks to be the size of a small village, relatively speaking. If you count, it's like 12 houses and a castle. There's probably going to be something interesting in the "Heaven" portion. But, I could still see this being a relatively short arc.

Especially if there is some sort of time-dilation thing going on, with 1 day equaling a month outside the island or something, explaining the warning. The Strawhats probably wouldn't want to stay on the island too long, if that was the case. And there was SOME foreshadowing of something like that, since Luffy's team had their whole Lego adventure in the same amount of time it took Robin's team to just sail up to the island. Oda's not that great with time scaling, either though, so it could be nothing.

So, I dunno. We'll see, I guess. I'll admit, I might just be in denial of Elbaph being another long arc, because I do want to get to the big answers of this series, already.

As for who the silhouette is...you know what? I'm keeping my dark horse pick. I don't think it's ANYBODY we know. I think it's going to be a brand new character. I still think this could be Oda's version of Ratatoskr the World Tree Squirrel! That's not a drink! It's a nut!

(Yeah, yeah, "You're the nut!" Obvious joke is obvious. Now you have to be more creative.)

The line "Rainbows are meant to be crossed" feels like it's going to have some bigger importance later on, somehow.

Gerd was cute this chapter. She seems to be a bit of a human fangirl, too. I guess humans are just a little exotic on this island full of giants. At least for the younger generation.

Also, it's easy to forget about, but apparently Luffy took Loki's deal! Makes sense, and I'm not surprised, but I AM surprised he's keeping it a secret for now. Luffy's not good at that.

Awkwardly existing in a world of chaos.

I was thinking about this; I don't think we'll have any Dressrosa/Wano length arcs anymore. Wano had a shitload of build up and characters introduced from Punk Hazard onwards, while Dolflamingo had been around since pre-timeskip. Egghead was about 68 chapters? I think that'll be what we get moving forward, maybe a bunch of small arcs for Lodestar/Final War/Laugh Tale but one arc being 150+ chapters these days, I can't really see it.
That's my hope anyway.
