Man’U troops said he never clashed with Kanmei
Juuko’ou said the Juuko army (including Man’U) clashed with the likes of Kanmei

Man’U said he’s weaker than Kanmei
Man’U also said Moubu was weaker than Kanmei and only defeated him due to his burden
Kanmei said he never clashed with anyone worthy
Deputy Kanmei one shot Oukutsu

These 4 used to be on their own and have fought Chu separately multiple times so maybe a couple of them did face Kanmei but the chase them down part could be related to other generals of Chu hence the "his ilk" comments
For example maybe Gen U just defended his castle against Kanmei while Man U chased down and destroyed the Chu army sent for him.

First of all they last fought in major wars 20 years ago, so why would we have heard about them before now exactly?

There were a couple of circumstances where it would have made sense to mention them atleast. During Rakua'Kan's introduction why not lead with the "so he's the man that defeated Gokei" or a little statement from Riboku that Han will not fall while those two are alive etc...

I think it would be kind of pointless to hype him so far in advance like that lol. Like we’re gonna hype Rakuakan but here’s 3 more years of Zhao…nah, introducing him with a tease initially and giving his full story later is fine, especially when Rakuakan’s day was 20 years ago lol.

We never saw the Han court during Coalition did we? Kou En is also a far, far more important character in the grand scheme of things than Rakuakan is. It makes sense to introduce him early. And even then Hara basically told us nothing about him.

Aye, Kou En is a final boss for all of China that has been rampaging throughout the interior all his life. Raku is a homebody that hasn't done anything in 20 years. Kou En deserves that long term build up, Raku doesn't. Lol.
