Wrong. There was a shift in the public opinion. Until a year ago, the status of the wars was mostly discussed through small circles. Either antisemitic far right ones either leftists ones (and sometimes even in antisemitic leftist circles).
But the reaction of Israel created a split in the population, greater than ever before. There is no such things as "different range of emotion". There are those who condamn a genocide and the atrocities and those who refuses to do it. This split is the reason why the left in France was demonized by media. Meanwhile, the population appropriated the conflict. To a point where an entire population refuses to go to a paid match to protest. To a point where prostest are not only in big cities, but everywhere on the planets in big and small town and on every side of the internet.
This was something impossible in the last decade as the mere criticizing of sionism could be considered an act of antisemitism.
It will never be the same.
