I don't think people realize how punishing nature is. LA's geography is conducive to wildfires and our world is getting warmer by the day.

Most cities are not prepared for disasters.
Coastal cities are highly vulnerable to rising sea levels yet we see continuous expansion of cities.
We aren't prepared for EQs, Tsunamis and massive volcanic eruptions, radioactive fallouts.
It seems we only learn after disasters strike.
