The timeline of Kuzan joining BBP doesn't make much sense and that's still a genuine issue
The 10 titanic captains were a properly etablished thing by Dressrosa as Gatz casually introduced Burgess as being part of "10 titanic captains"... yet Doflamingo despite his massive intel network only said he heard *rumors* concerning Kuzan and neither Smoker nor the marines had any idea of what Kuzan was doing and were shocked to learn he could have black market connections...

Either Gatz is actually supposed to have much better intel than Doffy and the marine or Oda purposely fucked up with the timeline due to wanting to keep Kuzan's status mysterious.

I think Kuzan was supposed to be a satellite agent, helping the BBP, but not being officially a member. But for some reason Oda never introduced who he had in mind as the 10th Titan, scraping him all together.

Using trickery and distractions, taking a shot from them in order to land one himself and making it a durability battle, or potentially getting a fruit for himself or his weapon

I read a theory about how the previous 10th captain was Wang Zhi and Kuzan took his place as a official crewmember between Dressrosa and Wano after something happened to him but that's basically pure headcanon to damage control Oda's iffy writing.

Here’s the truth of the matter.

When Teach's crew start raiding islands / causing trouble, the crew talks about their “Ten Titanic Captains”. “You’ll never survive agains our Ten Titanic Captains!” And shit like that.

So then rumor spreads all over the world of the “Ten Titanic Captains.” Nobody knows who exactly these captains are, maybe some of them are known like Burgess, but the exact members are not known to the wider world.

Hence the concept of Blackbeard’s “Ten Titanic Captains” being known to Gatz but Doffy not knowing their exact identities.

Yeah, the fact that Wang Zhi and the port incident were offscreened rubs me the wrong way. I think Oda has condensed the wrong bits of story, while dragging the repetitive ones.
