I’m ngl I actually really like Zoro and Nami in this chapter
Zoro’s a dumbass but he’s still less prone to manipulation than Luffy. It kinda reminds me of what he said back in Thriller Bark
Something along the lines of “Luffy can deal with anything straightforward but he’s easily mislead or tricked so we have to be there for him” back when they were fighting Oars/gunning for Moria
I know a lot of people like to joke around but it’s (rare) moments like these that show why Zoro is the defacto RHM

Her ice around managed to tank hybrid Kaido's thunder bagua.
While base Kaido's thunder bagua did more damage to Luffy than Katakuri managed in his entire beatdown of Luffy. (A feat which also made "Katakuri level" irrelevant as far as top tiers were concerned)
Literally anything Katakuri can land will do jackshit to her.
Dudes just keep ignoring obvious powercreep in a shounen manga for agenda reasons and favouritism. Katakuri is a good character, probably the best in post timeskip after Doflamingo, so people just keep making excuses. It's ridiculous
Assumption of Luffy's physical stats and combat speed being a constant is a big cope in this topic too.
G2's attack speed went from being a joke to pre GK Doflamingo in Dresrossa with even his fastest move, to landing multiple hits on drunken Kaido with slower moves post 1026.

Sure, if we're talking about things he could do, then Smoker could still be important. But so far he's been useless. His presence after Alabasta is negligible.
You know why I can say that?
Smoker was involved with Croc's conspiracy in Alabasta. Yet the Shichibukai still stood.
Smoker saw Law do weird shit in PH. Yet the Shichibukai still stood.
Smoker was assaulted by Doffy in PH. Yet the Shichibukai still stood.
Meanwhile, Fuji came in, witnessed Doffy's DR takeover, spoke against it. And the Shichibukai are no longer.
That's a man of importance.
You can argue that the Shichibukai system couldn't be dissolved before DR for plot needs, and I'd agree with you. But Oda still had no reason to use Fuji for its cancelation, when that had been Smoker's sideplot throughout pre-ts.
So far, Smoker has been a glorified babysitter for the giants kids of PH, and even that lead to absolutely nothing.
Anything Smoker does, there are at least ten other Marines who could do it better. He's useless. You'd think Oda could implement him within Sword, yet he preferred to introduce new characters like golem swag dude rather than show both Coby and Smoker alongside Garp.
Whatever Oda has in mind for Smoker, it's too little too late.
