And Akainu is over here huddled up in the corner screaming about eliminating pirates lmfao.

Nah man. I hate it. Make Akainu a hero, giving him a victorious 1v1 against Warcury would be so, so, so, so much better than him losing to Nika.

Depends how the war unfolds I guess, I agree with you in this scenario, but then again Akainu does not have to be fully aware of the scenario, he might go out and meet Luffy in a different setting on their own. This is what makes Akainu a great villain, he is the ultimate pirate terminator, to him Ace and Luffy are sinful and deserve death just for being born.
This honorable heroic version of Akainu is exactly what makes him the ultimate marine villain, he has to remain one

If Oda doesn’t make Saint Shanks evil, Garling or Shamrock are probably Saint Shanks fights. As much as I don’t want to admit it, Oda is probably hyping Saint Shanks Haki as being on the level of the Twenty Kings lol.
