Drizzy 6God Drake VS Kendrick (ALL OUT WAR Thread)

In Music? It absolutely does…. And you add longevity on top of that it essentially means you have a vast quantity of quality.
Numbers don’t matter till it comes to Not Like Us remember?

Kendrick only got popular due to his beef with Drake. I never heard of the dude until the Drake incident.
W lol. I remember there was interview in Japan and ppl were asking “Kendrick who?” When the beef was brought up

Unless you think MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice is better than 90s Nas, then no music popularity has nothing to do with quality

There are a lot of extremely popular musicians who are also masters of course, but there's also Imagine Dragons and Maroon 5

The only people who think Kendrick is a better artist are those who don’t know the world outside the U.S. Drake has been a Global Mainstream Artist for 15 + years. He is quite literally a Hit Maker.
Literally everyone who's listened to both of their discographies thinks Kendrick is far superior

Drake is larger, I'm not saying he isn't, but he exceeds Kendrick only in quantity not quality

Quality and popularity are not mutually exclusive.

Are you trying to annoy me or just plain retarded?
Are you saying Drake is just popular and his shit isn’t Quality? What are we doing here Rumble?? if my music reaches multiple countries consistently that matters, that means something. this isnt some modern day industry plant we’re talking about, we’re talking about someone with longevity here.

I didn't say Drake has no quality in his body of work. He has classic albums, a couple of them in fact.

We're not talking about the old work. We're talking about his contemporary works. That quality is not there anymore. What was his last work that wasn't divisive, More Life?

We're not talking about 2008 Drake. We not talking about the Drake with melodies.

Drake is more consistent though. There was a clear drop in quality between Damn and Mr Morale imho.

I find it kinda sad that Kendrick's "lesser" albums like DAMN and GNC will continue getting more limelight when GKMC, Section 80, Mr Morale and TPAB are noticably better
DAMN is his most commercially successful album.

GNX is a hit and will age very well specifically because Not Like Us was excluded from it. Excluding NLU was absolutely the right choice because it doesn't date the album by tying it to an opp. It's a monument to the West Coast sound and culture.

Mr Morale is arguably his best work, and it will age the best. That album is about healing. It's timeless. It's the kind of album you might think is mid in your 20s and love in your 30s.

Kendrick puts a lot of work into his Albums no doubt, they are all extremely well polished. But the sound attracts a very specific audience. And the Super Bowl showed that. Crowd only song along to the song relating to Drake.

Mr Morale is a great piece of music my third favorite in his discography.

but it has more skips than TPAB and GKMC. (the Kodak song being the most obvious low hanging fruit)

I agree about GNX. It's a great example of mainstream West Coast in 2020s

ok??

i literally said that Drake is the bigger artist. Drake's music is more well-known but Kendrick's music is universally considered better and higher quality.

Let’s go through this…..Scorpion 2018 that album carried the entire Summer and the rest of 2018.
In My Feelings, Gods Plan, Nice for What etc….

CLB 2021, this was polarizing but it’s aged really well, Champagne Poetry, Fountains, Pipe Down, 7Am bridle etc….

Honestly Never Mind 2022

House Music, People Outside of the US love this album. It’s only in the US where it’s not appreciated. Because drake appealing to a different audience.

For All The Dogs 2023
This was the Best Drake Album since Scorpion, and the Deluxe released on top of that was fire too. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying out their teeth.
8am, Virginia Beach, Polar Opposites, Tried our Best, First Person Shooter, etc….

My perfect K Dot Setlist would have excluded Luther, man at the garden, and switched it with ADHD and Cartoons & Cereal but that’s jus me

To be fair all three of your examples are irrelevant to most music listeners lol MC Hammer

ZenZu

The only one who can beat me is me
no they didn't lol. guy had to prerecord a minor shouting
Lmfao stop it. Drake stans are a different breed. Everyone in that stadium was shouting that shit at the top of their lungs. This conspiracy theory is sad. I've seen Drake stans on twitter posting the "proof" only to get laughed at, because the vids literally show how it was organic.

Also I agree with the sentiment that Kendrick didn't put on a performance for the Super Bowl, he legit just advertised his new album GNX and dunked on Drake. Which is completely fine by me, but when you think of it this kinda proves Kendrick does not have the hits to be solo during the Superbowl. Even people who know Kendrick but who aren't tapped in wouldn't know half of these tracks lol, the man didn't play a single track pre Damn, no GKMC, no TPAB stuff.

Fantastic performance, just not for a casual audience. That was my favourite superbowl performance ever, but that's because I'm a fan of hip hop, that was a masterpiece for hip hop heads only. For me this was better than Dre's performance, and he had Eminem, 50, Kendrick, Snoop and Mary J Blige.
