LOda would never let a giant be a cool antagonist. He only ever uses them for cheap hypetools. Its freaking shameful. Closest we ever got to one was in a PS2 game from over 15 years ago.

Gaban gave Luffy the business without completely embarrassing him

Luffy outside of G5 is an inbetweener so I think it’s somewhat fair that Scopper could mess with him (Kizaru bullied G4 for example)

It’s a nice middle ground. Oda gassed up Gaban’s prime strength while still maintaining some hype for Luffy
