He was, but the way he was taken down was an absolute clown fest, though it's nothing compared to what Big Mom went through. And the way fights and power levels have been handled during and after Wano is an absolute mess that will never leave the manga I fear.

He doesn't look that good either to be honest. I expected he would fight base luffy because I have this friend who has always wrong takes, I asked him what gaban would do next chapter and he said "he demolishing G4", that's what I wanted and hoped as well but since he is always wrong I kinda expected the two extreme aspects of it, Gaban demolishing G5 or him just fighting base luffy, and well we now know what's reality. So honestly, I am not impressed.

It would only be disappointing for you if u think Base Luffy is fodder like the rest of luffy fans are doing now.
Base Luffy is still comfortablly above all commanders combined so this good look for Gaban

Lolden literally lost to acocless Kaido but according to the same bozos here he was a high top tier despite "aCOC massively boosting all stats"

1) Oden was a mid top-tier
2) Oden was beating Kaido quite handily mind you and only lost due to trickery.
3) ACoC is literally denoted the power of the strongest and exists as one of the most major power-ups in the manga. Downplaying it makes zero sense. If Luffy isn't using it or G5 then he's not a top-tier - simple as that.

Not sure why people are playing dumb acting ACoC isn't as insane as it is lmao. If your boy Gaban is as strong as you think he is then he should be able to handle even ACoC Luffy. If Luffy didn't use ACoC or hell even FS then he was literally trolling. That's not even debatable. We'll find out when we see the raws.
