Why would you assume these are suspects instead of people trying to resolve the most obvious suspect after yesterday

I could easily see a dedicated scum team setting something like that up, especially if it has the chance to get town focused on the people instead of them (plus high chance for multiple miselims).

Average WG scum team isn't doing this, can't play 5d chess when you're sticking the pieces up your nose
