Fanclub Yamato, Daughter of Kaidou Fanclub

Both yamato luffy agreed that yamato was at least strong enough to hold her own against admirals. She was not allowed to fight against GB is all imo.
Yeah, because Momo doesn't want her to stay in Wano forever due to his defense failures. So unless Yamato is going to end up as some guard dog slave for the rest of her life, Momo will power up so that Yamato can sails like she always wanted to.

We will see then. Shall we have a 7 day avi bet for this?
Nah. lol

I just really don’t see how Oda can have Yamato say all that just to momentarily appear on some
fleet for Luffy, especially after what he did with Jinbe and what he’s doing with Vivi even.

I think it will take Yamato having to announce she’ll never sail with Luffy to get me to accept this. Wouldn’t be great closure, but closure nonetheless.

I could see Yamato eventually having to admit that she doesn’t think he’s strong enough to be a defender due to his failure with the Admiral, which would would his pride, like Zoro said.

That would def push him to prove himself and power up from there. Oda powered up Koby and Tama rather quick, so it’s only a matter of time he powers up as well.
Right especially tama growth is insane to think about was a damsel in distress to kicking toldem later on

Hehehehe I couldnt resist lol.

Yamato having her own crew or at least her own scabbards going like the cover story implies atm would be really cool.

I have my headcanon that eventually we're gonna see her running on the ocean using her DF to create frozen platforms as she runs across it or even doing an ice slide Frozone style (Oh wait that would fit Kuzan more lmao) and she would be running towards the Sunny and maybe grabbing onto it by the anchor chain like Oden did.

Luffy would then test her loyalty to the crew and at the same time see if Wano can truly defend itself without her, by making her do a similar test to Oden before he lets her board and join the crew officially. But given her DF too, idk if its gonna weaken her too much with exposure to the seawater? So maybe she doesn't do the anchor thing but hops on board from the ocean or even runs into Elbaf or whichever island and does some super cool dramatic entrance?

Bonus points if she does this lmao:

Eh, I don’t think Luffy would test her like that since he was already willing to invite her.

It seems apparent enough that Oda is building up Yamato having more friends to make her departure all the more emotional.

And we could either expect more development with Yamato going to sea rather soon, given what’s going on with Caribou.

Right?! I think it would be a very beautiful, powerful scene especially in the anime and I was partially inspired by Okami the game for it.

Something like this:

As an Okami superfan, I almost screamed IRL when Yamato's DF was revealed, it was so worth the teasing and wait in hindsight hehe. Perfect choice for her, I'm so grateful to Oda for it! So majestic, so beautiful!

It's also hilariously ironic that Amterasu the goddess of the sun herself who you play as in Okami in her holy white wolf form, restores life and thus beauty to the land as part of her powers, with a celestial/magical paintbrush too BUT in One Piece, Green Bull was the one doing that "unintentionally"/subconsciously with his DF LMAO! I really do wonder if Oda knew of Okami or even played it, far too much coincidence, with Yama herself even facing Green Bull too!

Some fun, relative food for thought too:

Also, something important to note is that in the video game, we go somewhere called the Ark of Yamato in an ice region

(A random fun fact too, a modern day IRL clan, a very recent one supposedly worships Amaterasu and guess their name? KUROZUMI!)

https://yamato.fandom.com/wiki/Amaterasu

  • Amaterasu is named after the sun goddess of japanese shintoism, the name had previously been used by the UNCF as a codename for Sheherzade, the iscandarian ship which brought Sasha Iscandar to Earth

Yamato class battleships (1941)
The Yamato was a Japanese battleship, the lead ship of her class, and one of the largest and most heavily armed battleships ever built. She was commissioned in December 1941 and sunk by American aircraft in April 1945 during Operation Ten-Go.

Yamato is the "Oni Princess" and imo each ancient weapon needs a princess or is a princess in Shirahoshis case lol. I expect Nami to be a princess and thus Uranus would be connected to her via weather manipulator/powers and Vivi for Pluton but this whole twist of Pluton in Wano and Yamato getting her cover story there, as she ended up staying behind, makes me think she's gonna find Pluton eventually as the big twist. Oda kept us from seeing Pluton and the SHs getting to see it for a reason.

This would have been so fucking cool too:

Imo Pluton will be the biggest battleship and can probably not only go extremely deep underwater like a submarine but also actually fly and be a flying ship and also go on land like Capone's tank battleship thing.

I've mentioned it before too but Pirate Warriors 4 really did a spectacular job with Yamato's moveset, gameplay, animations etc, she is so wonderful and badass to play as it in, extremely fun:

@MonsterKaido you may enjoy this post?

Aye thats fair, I was purposely forcing the Whitebeard Oden parallel there tbh. I was thinking he might be a bit skeptical because she changed her mind so suddenly after wanting to join so aggresively, so openly before.

Yeah that sounds right, that makes sense too, I like that a lot. She gets to redeem the Oni and also spread Oden's legacy and remind Wano of who the "real heroes" are as part of her farewell tour, then she can truly leave it in peace. She needs to see the world, not still be a prisoner to that place in one way or another. People who want her to stay don't really understand/respect her character imo.

Oh yes thats true, Blackbeard will find out about Pluton's location as as well as Shirahoshi and make his move for sure, we might really get Blackbeard at Wano and Shanks ironically turning up far too soon to catch him there, when he came by earlier ofc.

Maybe Blackbeard will be the one to break down the actual walls of Wano, instead of Yamato with Pluton as I hoped, but I want my completely wild headcanon of Buggy with his awakening doing it lololol. Oh well maybe in Two/Buggy/Clown Piece lmao. (Funnily enough, there's Touhou character called ClownPiece, Buggy's true daughter or his other daugher aside from Vivi? /s)

But I digress anyway. I do think Yamato's cover story will culminate in her leaving Wano and thus as you said, it would be a lot more emotional with the friends she's made and people she's recruited to help defend Wano in her place like Ulti and Page One. I expected her to reform the Beast Pirates and somehow convince them to help defend Wano, some of them at least.

Depending how loyal they still are to Kaido and her being his daughter, she might be able to exert some authority, even inherit the crew for herself possibly? With King and Queen seemingly out of the picture, god knows whats going on with Sasaki, Black Maria, Jack etc, surely Yamato should be able to get the rest to help Wano even if she has to appeal to their nature, be more pragmatic in convincing them?

Fuck I forgot to include my tag to @CoC: Color of Clowns before I posted this too, whoops! ACT 4 BABY!

Maybe She'll join the crew after all luffy did say he'll come pick them up if they want to be pirates I doubt momo and kinemon will leave wano for it so it mostly meant for Yamato

Great post by @Spydersickness I felt to share here:

"There’s always been this idea even back when people were theorizing that she would stay behind, that it would be to do so in an “advisory” role for Momonosuke. Some even saying that she would teach him Haki and swordsmanship. Which I always thought was nonsense because Yamato doesn’t know a thing about being a samurai or about swordsmanship, so what could she possible teach him? And also, that’s literally what Kinemon’s role has always been in regards to Momonosuke. But if you pay attention as far back as the raid, Yamato has never had any intention of teaching Momonosuke anything or being a mentor to him. During the raid, instead of helping him figure out how to use the flame clouds, she instead left him to figure it out on his own to attend to other matters she felt were more pressing. When the fighting started, she was all too eager to get out and bust some heads instead of staying behind to protect Momo, whom she ultimately left the task up to Shinobu. She treats him in very much the same way Luffy does, which is for him to stand on his own and figure things out for himself.

And speaking of Luffy, Momonosuke views Yamato as an “outsider” the same way he does Luffy. As in she isn’t from Wano, isn’t a servant of Wano and as such she shouldn’t worry herself about its affairs. It was part of that huge impassioned speech he gave her when he thought she was leaving with Luffy. About how Wano needed to be able to stand on its own two feet and couldn’t keep relying on the kindness of outsiders like her and Luffy. He doesn’t see her as “part of Wano”, like he does his family or the Scabbards. He sees her as a kind friend, but not someone who should be burdened by his country’s affairs.

To me it’s just more confirmation that Yamato’s story obviously doesn’t end in Wano. That’s why he mentioned her as “still learning about the world” and having reassured that even though she was just in a cover story, it doesn’t mean that she won’t be seen again and to look forward to her next appearance." - https://worstgen.alwaysdata.net/for...d-the-grand-fleet.31999/page-963#post-6412046
