my opinion on the Gaza war has about as much weight as my opinion on one piece. Nobody really cares.
The war is current event. In time, more facts will come, bias will fade, and we’ll get a greater understanding of the event. Maybe then I’ll conclude without a doubt that it was a genocide.

Israel didn't bomb all these civilians by accident. We know it's a genocide because the intent is there too. Israeli officials are more retarded than nazis were because they can't shut their trap about how they displace and exterminate the people in Gaza on live television.
Yeah, it might be a little different if it was just soldiers getting pummeled, but Israel has consistently bombed civilian neighborhoods/schools/hospitals/food banks, that’s a pretty clear cut sign of their intent to wipe out any semblance of humanity in Gaza…and listen, I have obviously felt an attachment to that colonized state when I was much younger and wanted the Hamas hostages to go free, but you can’t justify this gratuitous level of retaliation, it’s clearly ethnic cleansing by any definition

The deaths from direct combat are ultimately only 63k out of 2 million Gazans, basically less than 5% of the population. I don’t think you could argue genocide from that alone. Nonetheless those civilian casualties are horrific and counterintuitive to any long term peace.
Where I think there is a much stronger argument for genocide is the indirect deaths due to the destruction of infrastructure, famine, and lack of aid.
This article links a study stating that excess mortality could be ~300k since the war started. That’s 16.75% of Gaza’s population. I don’t know how true those numbers are, but I would be a lot more comfortable calling Israel’s actions a genocide if they were.
Which is kinda why I’m holding my judgement until we get a much clearer scope of what happened.
