People have been speculating that Silvers Rayleigh may clash with Shiki (the future Golden Lion) at God Valley, while Scopper Gaban could clash with Kyo (the future Silver Axe).

There's also a love triangle, a passive rivalry, that involves Gol D. Roger and Silvers Rayleigh.

V. Nusjuro is a future opponent of Zoro, the new-gen parallel to Rayleigh. He represents the planet Venus, and the characters used for Venus in JP & Chinese (金星) can be literally translated as "Gold Star," or "Gold Planet," or "Metal Star."

Gold is generally more valuable than silver, both monetarily and symbolically, yet silver can upset gold in One Piece.
