Nope. The island Roger and Whitebeard were on was all the territory there was and Roger and Whitebeard completely affected it and then even beyond it, as they shook the seas. Even if their Haki clash had a radius of 10km as opposed to Harald's and Xebec's 5km, with nothing beyond the island than sea, there would be no one to be knocked out.

So yes, if Harald's and Xebec's clash was more powerful, there would be no reason for Oda not to draw some sky split as fan service. Could be Oda simply didn't care, people can put Harald's and Xebec's Haki in the same ballpark if they wish, but putting it even above what the Yonko and Roger showed, what is the basis for this?

If Xebec's and Harald's clash was more powerful, Oda would've highlighted it in another way, which included environmental influence that surpasses what splitting the skies did.

He quite literally already did, with the 5km radius everyone was wiped out feat, he gave a whole ass narrator breakdown of their clash.

Roger's and Whitebeard's clash encompassed the entire island and shook the island beyond it, with people at the edge of the island being propelled through the air. You may say the island is small, but Oda's scale was always off the charts, for example with Zou having a confirmed radius of 5km as well despite not really looking vast visually.

It hasn't been hinted that he has it

Zoro having it doesn't mean Mihawk will, it simply means Zoro will surpass Mihawk. And Mihawk wants that to happen, which isn't kingly

Xebec's and Harald's Haki was even stronger than that? Fine, display it as sky splitting and then some, with Oda narrating the clash in a way to highlight how it was unparalleled by our current standards/knowledge. Rather than the clash just having black lightning emitting.

Oda hyped Xebec and Harald’s Reverie clash harder than he hyped any other Haki clash in the history of this manga, you just chose to ignore it because you don’t understand the difference between a narrative tool and a power level tool.

@soupongo Fr tho, how else do you explain Shanks being a “Child of Destiny” and his mom being hyped up to be important? Most logical explanation is Shanks’s mom is from Joyboy’s bloodline imo. And then there’s the fact that Joyboy’s silhouette looks a lot like Shanks

No idea which clash was stronger than the other, the point was skysplit is not by default the superior clash. Big Mom and Kaidou's skysplit didn't wipe out anyone even close to a 5km radius, same goes for Shanks and WB's skysplit. The only contender rn to me is WB and Roger's clash. It is very likely Oda is avoiding giving skysplit to non pirates, doesn't make Garp or Harald any weaker than rooftop Luffy.

He wasn't waiting for Nika to awaken to get the OP, I think it's more that he wanted Nika to awaken so he can be an obstacle for Luffy and a way for Luffy to prove his meddle. Shanks knew he couldn't be the Pirate King anymore once he gave up his arm and lost the fruit to Luffy
