The problem is not mental, it's political and structural. And the reason why we - materialist - absolutely refuse to call it "mental", is because it individualize the problem. It shift the blame on a personnal issue in this case a mental issue, to avoid talking about a structural problem that is the reason why those person acts like this.
As Marx perfectly explained : It is not consciousness that determines life, but life that determines consciousness.
This means that the problem does not come from people, but the system shaped by the people (even if it doesn't mean we should deresponsibilize the people inside the system). And in this case, making it personnal through a mental issue or a mental illness will inevitably resonnate on people suffering from ableism. As the behavior will be inevitably perpetuated as it is already a perpetuation of the domination system that is ableism.
If you understand this. You will not only start to become a real leftist, but you will bypass the simple radical phase toward materialism. And trust me, if you do that, your ENTIRE vision of the world will shift.
