This is not unlike what happened to the depiction of alcohol and cigarettes.
Older cartoons still had them, iirc the Disney Pinocchio film shows the young characters become unwell from smoking and the color of their face changing to green or grey.
Nowadays we can't even have NEGATIVE depictions of such things that have the power to act as a deterrent to young audiences.
It certainly shaped the way my young mind thought about the dangers of substance abuse.
I would also like to note that in the episodes of this show, all the characters who aren’t doing blackface spend most of their time pointing out how racist it is…context doesn’t matter to Hulu and Netflix, because they’re doing the opposite of glorifying or normalizing such a practice
