Id say the same if any other CP0 member was there. Lucci was barely an important character in egghead. CP0 just isn’t an engaging or important group. They’re just a retconned CP9 cause Oda didn’t think the Manga would last this long.

I still wish Smoker was on Egghead instead of Lucci
Smoker clashing with G5 like Lucci did, or with a Kong Gun (to preserve the G5 hype) would have been so cool. Both have themes that are heavily revolving around the color white, too.

idk why anyone thinks this is bad look for Sanji.

He tanked the same attack G5 Luffy did, who has vastly superior durability.

He was unable to move and at Saint Saturn's mercy

And in this case, Sanji blitzed Nusjuro - while carrying Vegapunk - and was only vulnerable to a counter because he saved Bonney.

To be fair Sanji showing against Nusjuro are decent and be did save Bonney. Not a W, not the worst L

Disagree on the Lucci and Kaku thing, they're not meant to be far apart although Lucci is obviously superior.

Lucci is on a completely different level, the fact CL²³oda had Kaku awaken his fruit doesn't change a thing in my view. This being said, if Kaku managed to close the gap with Lucci or if it didn't is inconsequential. They don't look comparable.

Lucci has a higher rank, he was Luffy's opponent before the TS, he got hyped by Vegapunk and he fought against G5 Luffy. Kaku went down to pre Shusui Zoro after a single Ashura hit and got put to sleep by Stussy. Nothing else.

Being paired up with Sanji would actually make him look weaker given Sanji awful showings.

With regards to power level Kaku would have been the only winable fight for Sanji, I dont believe he stood a chance vs Lucci. Even Luffy was concerned about Zoro vs Lucci and Jinbei also spoke highly of him if my memory serves me correctly.

Hancock had 2 Seraphim, a VA, Koby and some others sent for her
Who else was a Warlord at the time? Was it just Law and Buggy? Obviously he won't fight Buggy lol and I don't think we heard of Law fighting anyone off

Rayleigh and Shakky were there, so unless they sent both Kizaru and Issho no way their force would be good enough to fight a top tier (or two depending on what Oda does with shakky) and an Inbetweener

And he didn't seem particularly stressed about her capture he seemed a bit bummed that Vegapunk "spoiled the surprise" (which btw is a dumb line imo)

The zoro vs Lucci fight was barely on screen. Why waste the panel time on a character like Kaku.

Cause you have an Anime that can make any fight beautiful, If you can make a fight between Sanji and a stationary fighter like Queen look good imagine Sanji Vs Kaku would look like maybe Sanji even picks up that Rankyaku technique . Also Zoro and Lucci clashed on multiple occasions in the Manga stop this narrative that the anime created that fight, Oda gave Animators something to work with…….. see these vertical strips? That means a Passage of Time occurred before we got to this particular scene. Implying Lucci and Zoro were fighting for awhile . Also, Zoro never really struggled with Lucci. Once he used an actually strong named attack Lucci nearly died.
So it's fine if Sanji fights Kaku as long as it's in a similar manner to Zoro vs Lucci where once Sanji whips out an especially strong move like Hell Memories (even if it's just DJ) Kaku is finished.
I do agree that Sanji should have clashed with Kizaru a hit though. Obviously Kizaru would beat him without much trouble in a real fight but a few clashes never hurt anybody.
It's nuts that Oda had Zoro knock Nusjuro on his ass and then had Sanji do a far less impressive feat against that same top tier, as well as to go as far as to have him get clapped by all the other top tiers on Egghead. He's gotta do more if he's going to keep portraying Sanji as Zoro's near equal.
