since they are socially constructed, does that mean "woman" means something else depending on what society we are looking at?
It could in a very far future yeah, but not in our world I believe. The world is global now, interconnected. Patriarchy is present pretty much everywhere.

so the word doesnt describe anything really?
For the moment, not really yeah. Being a man means different things whether you are asking to a conservative or a leftist man. The most objective thing you can say is that being a man is equivalent to a social status of domination over women in this patriarcal society.

classic logiko. he is the jordan peterson of this thread
lmao

i would have thought you are aware of this term, it was huge on the internet a couple years ago and was controversial.
My leftist politicization is very recent. Less than 5 years. And I mostly followed the french side of politics. I know about people not wanting to date trans people but never this specific term, in french it would sound ridiculous

:shocking:

So basically, C4N continues to show he's brainwashed... Got it.
Nothing ever changes around here.
Remind the room when is the last time that you change your old political vision about something and went the opposite way please ?
:catsure:

Why would I change to something terrible? Are you dumb?

You are wrong though. I hold my own views, and in line with reality, You and C4N do not.
I'm not on the side of making up new shit to fit their selfish worldview and wanting to be something they're clearly not.
So again, you are wrong.
what views of mine dont align with reality exactly?

and thats why the majority of people like to use the definition of the term where it actually means something :kayneshrug:

but gender roles are vastly different among different cultures, what it means to be a woman socially isnt the same globally

"super straight" is a term designated for people who only date cisgendered people.

so me having a preference in regards who i take as partner makes me transphobic and/or racist?

interesting.
"Super Straight" is genuinely hilarious :suresure:

Actually this can be an interesting question. While I don't consider this as an oppressed condition reallyish, the stigma against bald people is definitely the echo of the intersection of different systems of domination: Without too much thinking I would say ableism and patriarchy. Ableism because baldness is associated with handicaps and illness and patriarchy because baldness makes us "less of a man".
There is definitely some ageism in it too. Bald people at 17 (for instance) are considered to be very old.

And when they decide to shave it off because they only have 3 hair on their scalp.... they can get wrongfully harassed for being far-right wing.

I wouldn't say it's patriarchal because they're less of a man but because they won't deal with their emotions and when they share it they can be downplayed.

Why would I change to something terrible? Are you dumb?
That's what I thought. You never evolved and questionned your own political vision, values or set of beliefs.

Why does it rub you so much the wrong way to read scientific concepts ?

Indeed!

Well.. there is an esthetic...

I was more talking about the projection of what it is do be a man understand a very patriarcal lens (mostly non bald). But yeah, there is also this side when Baldness is downplayed. We should indeed promote the acceptation of bald people more. There is a field of awereness that could be reached here.

Yeah, but the domination of patriarchy is constant, as such, being a woman is a social status before everything else.

Hell, you’re already thoroughly awful as things stand, maybe a new mindset would make you marginally less pathetic?? It’s a stretch, I know, but it’s probably worth a try :BigW:

Czar Al came in and deleted our responses, but again, MAGAts are all too happy to give up their rights if it means people with different skin colors or sexual preferences don’t have them either, can’t be reformed from a mindset that needlessly cruel :Shadow_Unimpressed:

It's like saying "I only date white women" which is racist..
what about the following:
"i only date asian women"
"i only date black women"
"i only date mexican women"
"i only date jewish women"

:choppawhat:

We must always analysis domination systems and relationships. In these cases, racism. Here it can be either a protection mechanism from racialized population or we might have a case of fetichization from white people > I, for ex, dealt for a long time with the remains of a racist fetichization of south american and south asian women. I was finding them more attractive by pure orientalism.

It’s okay bro, you can have your preferences. Nobody is going to judge you.

tbh this one is more along the lines of Muslims wanting to only date muslims

as Judaism is against marrying out. Especially marrying a non Jewish woman as your kids won’t be Jewish by orthodox law.

Don't worry It's not about judgement, and I still have leftovers of this mindset. It's about what these preferences reveal how they shape the power dynamics. You can have preferences but the issues comes when these preferences are the result of a system of domination and in this case, a neo-colonist bias that we westerner tend to have toward the global south.

Well if you're black and only want to date black people, it's fine because blacks are victims of oppression so it's good to fight whiteness.
But if you're white and only want to date black people, then it's racist and express a colonialist view of the world.

However if you're a woman, you can have these preferences because woman also are victims of oppression.
