Character Discussion Whitebeard was supposedly stronger than Kaidou—but Oden clearly disagrees with that.

Why did Oden and Oda emphasize twice that not even Prime Whitebeard, Garp, Rayleigh, Gaban, Big Mom, Shiki, or any other pirate of the time could take down Kaidou? The emphasis on “the ones who can strike down Kaido” makes it clear that no one else had enough strength, limiting the possibility of defeat to specific figures who didn’t even exist yet. In this way, it literally says that Kaidou was the STRONGEST for two decades, completely contradicting the idea that Whitebeard was stronger than Kaidou. @nik87 @Monster Zoro's Tesla Supplier @MonsterKaido @Hanzo hattori

I think it's more to do with history.

Oden learnt true history and realized they aren't the ones to usher new era. There is this prophecy of next generation.

Oden simply believes if he can't then kaido will be taken down by them.

Or maybe, they are not iron clads rules that you guys make up in your head and every statement or action is some factual statment and is is context based, like , you know, in the real world?
I know its hard concept to grasp

Whitebeard was called the WSP and WSM while Kaido was alive
Also your point gets debunked by the fact that people like Rayleigh and Gaban didn't seem to care too much about taking down Kaido. They told Oden if he needed help, he should ask, and he turned them down. So they left a grown man to a grown man's business.
Alright, this is beautiful, but why did Oden leave Whitebeard out here and say that the only ones capable of defeating Kaido would appear 20 years in the future?

Like, Oden excluded Whitebeard as being able to do this. The statement is simple: it’s about who would be capable of defeating Kaido—there’s no way there’s any distortion here

THEY ARE THE ONES WHO CAN STRIKE DOWN KAIDO!! We’re speaking a new language where ambiguity exists, but as far as I know, it’s not hard to come to the same understanding as mine when reading this. I mean, if there were another interpretation, for me it’s more than clear.

Lolden the retarded dumb fuck clown, literally refused all of the roger pirate clowns' help

He did not think they were gonna come save his retarded sorry ass lol

And he quit wb's crew. So he knew wb would not come to rescue his clown nation either

Lolden basically alienated everyone who could have saved him, then declared "no one can save us" lmao

what a fucking retard

That’s the point—how the hell is Prime Whitebeard supposed to be able to defeat Kaido when Oden in the manga is saying he can’t?
The guy was excluded from a statement whose sole purpose was to establish who could defeat Kaido, and he wasn’t included, so it means he IS NOT, not that he IS.

Forget Kaidou. Fans should've picked the hint that this guy was bum the moment Oda didn't recognise him worthy of defeating an Samurai he just introduced in the flashback i.e Oden.

Oden not accepting the help of Roger’s pirates and trying to solve the problem on his own, only to fail, doesn’t necessarily make anything he says lose credibility.

Oden was definetily overestimating Kaido. Oden himself almost one shot him. Roger and PrimeBeard can replicate any feat of Oden.

"How was Oden overestimating Kaido if he sailed with Whitebeard, with Roger, and saw both of them clash and fight? And even so, do you think that none of them could have surprised him enough to make him think they could defeat Kaido? That’s exactly what happened—after all those years sailing with Roger and Whitebeard, witnessing their strength, it still wasn’t enough for Oden to assume that any of them could take down Kaido.

Oden literally said: 'The only ones capable of taking down Kaido would still be born,' because at that time there wasn’t a single living man capable of doing such a thing, man.

Roger~Whitebeard>Oden. Oden almost killed Kaido and lost because of a trick. PrimeBeard and Roger can definitely smoke prime Kaido. Oden wasn't the brighest either, btw. Not sure why he didn't go ask Whitebead for help. Samurai pride is really fucking stupid.

This isn’t about asking for help, because Kaido literally tells us that if Oden had joined forces with Hyogoro and all the other samurai of Wano, he would’ve had to deal with the entire country, and it would’ve been a very difficult battle. That’s why Kaido went and eliminated Hyogoro and his family due to his disobedience toward Orochi.

There was no lack of manpower in Wano to take down Kaido, and Oden refusing outside help to handle his own problems doesn’t make everything that comes out of his mouth mistaken or lose its credibility.

Roger~Whitebeard>Oden.
Oden also said: There’s no one else capable of defeating Kaido.

Good to know that Whitebeard was born 20 years later. LMAO
...THEY WILL BE THE ONES TO STRIKE DOWN KAIDO!!!
THEY ARE THE ONES WHO CAN STRIKE DOWN KAIDO!!
I just want you to answer me — is this sentence including Whitebeard or excluding him?
Roger~Whitebeard>Oden.
This is so true that Oden says: If I can’t take down Kaido, there will be no others.
That at the very least tells us that Oden doesn’t see himself as inferior to Whitebeard, because if the remote possibility of him being even slightly weaker than someone like Whitebeard crossed his mind, why would he say there would be no others capable?
