His haki is far from maxed out (Joyboy level CoC burst, observation killing, targeted CoC like Shanks, etc)

And Luffy has likely only scratched the surface with G5

Everyone knew Kaidou was only in the fight to get one tapped as a demonstration, but Oda just couldn't spare Big Mom, Kaidou alone wasn't enough to get the point across. Big Mom had her homies and even AdCoC at this point , atleast Kaidou just picked up his df and was already a confirmed Hanafuda rival.

Kaido can't really look bad in this flashback because we knew he's max YC level (with maybe top tier durability due to dragon fruit) at this point of time, but BM was already in her thirties, had her DF for two decades and could use aCOC. Oda truly can't have her get a break
