Are you seriously telling me that Old Garp outperformed Old Whitebeard? Of course not, Whitebeard's performance was leagues better and in a significantly worse condition where he couldn't even use CoC lol. Garp went down to one ex-Admiral who was significantly holding back after a single cheapshot that wasn't even fatal.

An infinitely worse condition WB (no CoC, no CoO) went down after a Squard cheapshot, heart attack, Akainu donut cheapshot (which was significantly worse than Shiryu's stab), a Kizaru laser, losing half his actual head, and then getting jumped by BB's entire crew, plus a million cannon strikes, stabs and gunshots along the way.

GV doesn't change the fact that we saw old Garp's performance vs old WB and WB cleared, easily, whilst being ridiculously nerfed to boot. A man who was canonically <= Roger. A pre-prime performance on GV doesn't magically change that. Whitebeard and Roger, after GV, went onto become the top 2.

People are being dishonest — no chance you seriously think that, if you drop a perfectly healthy old Whitebeard into Old Garp's shoes, that he loses in the same way or worse. Absolutely no chance.

Old Garp blitzed Kuzan twice in face-to-face. Old WB had to sneak an admiral from behind to finally get a scene where he looks good against them.

Doubt it personally. Still have years to cover through Loki's life and evidently Oda wants to draw at least the scene where Shanks and Harald meet in Mariejoa (and presumably how he meets his brother/father). Then you have Loki witnessing/being responsible for his fathers death before going out to sea and being a pirate for 8 years (within that time frame he tries to ally with BM remember) before losing to Shanks 6 years ago.

This also assumes that Oda doesnt want to continue to outline Shanks and Blackbeard's lives or if he's saving that for another flashback.

I just want it to be known that I was never the dude who denied Roger and Garp only soloed Xebec and not his crew too, and that I said time and time again that Roger is a swordsman and that him using a gun once in chapter 0 doesn't mean shit since we'll see him use a sword in every serious fight
