We are talking about veterans who (presumably) had many life-death fights, hard trainings, battle experiences, and even top tier fights.
I doubt they will get some haki bloom that they didn't get in their many high level fights before.

IMO the only scenario some veteran can grow significantly in power, is if he got some DF or awakened it. (Blackbeard)

On paper he should since he’s been a pirate longer than half of the Strawhats have been alive

But he’s guaranteed to see some form of growth now that he’s joined the crew
