The general rant thread

I hate how much time work takes.
I don't have the time to do most of the things i liked since i started my second job.
It's basically work from morning to night with a couple hours of free time at night that barely gives enough time to eat and maybe workout if you're lucky.
Don’t need to work out when you’re a bartender :kata:. But yeah, I feel you. Previous year I had 3 jobs and almost got a 4th. Perhaps ask if you can reduce working hours as long as you can afford it and it’s fine for your company?

You remind me of my mom lol. She always works hard to make everyone happy as well. My dad, too, but he has the habit of drawing people to him who exploit that, same for my sister. My entire family consists of people who lack selfishness to an almost extreme degree. I am happy they are such good people, but at the same time you need selfishness in your life. You need to think of yourself more. The feeling of helping others and seeing them smile knowing you brightened their day makes you feel all warm inside, but you should look at yourself like you look at those people. What makes you happy? What‘s something that would brighten your mood? And then help yourself like you help others. Wanna eat a big chocolate cake? Have a slice. Wanna pet a little guinea pig? Get one (and I recommend that, pretty easy to care for, don’t need that much space and when they’re used to you touching them you can even cuddle with them). Get what I‘m saying? Once you found a way to make yourself happy like that, you will have a lot of positive energy. And that will also eventually help with the other adult stuff. Just believe in yourself and care for yourself.
Oh yeah that is so relatable damn. Opposites attract I guess unfortunately, prey and predators too maybe. Yeah ego and selfishness are necessary to some degree for survival and thus for our own wellbeing. Otherwise you truly become a martyr dying the slowest most painful death too.

Thats a good point, Ill try to do that, do more things for myself like I did during my early college to university days where it helped my mental health a lot. Awww, one of my exes had guinea pigs and she loved them a lot. I do want to get a pet someday, something cuddly and furry ideally but i really want a parrot too for all the inevitable shenanigans too. I might try rabbits again (lol i almost typed rabbis lmao) like i used to have as a kid as rabbits can be so hilarious too and cuddly but they can be extremely hard work.

I need to get myself down to the big animal farm again and spend time with the animals there again, it always cheers me up and relaxes me. Its hilaaious having sheep and goats constantly baaing at you with such sass lmao.

That makes a lot of sense thank you, just simple self TLC, Ill keep that in mind. A lot of little good acts can lead to major big acts of good and thus widespread good like the films Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty tried to teach us too (biblical/religious values ofc) and I loved those 2 films especially the latter, which I think is way too hated and misunderstood but alas.

I don't work for a company
I had a government job and opened a store recently which is not making any money. We'll see what happens, but if anything i need to put in more hours to try and make it successful, so less hours is sadly not an option as of now.

Get a pet for sure. They do wonders for your soul. But be careful if it’s cats. They can be some pieces of work at first, so only go for special breeds which also work as therapy cats and are calm-natured.

Oh yeah ive seen so many videos of cats being absolutely unhinged, weird, "unique" etc. A cat would be much easier for me than a dog, I love how independent they are and not constantly attention hungry either. They can be so sweetly affectionate when they want to be, especially with the purring too and I love their trilling as well.

A lot of people I've known have all been major cat lovers including my therapist, several family members, former close friends, an ex GF at least etc, so it kinda feels like destiny for me to get a cat lmao. I was thinking the exact same thing the other day too tbh, I want a cat lol. I gotta be careful what breed though, as you said go for special breeds, something suited for therapy, more calmer breeds and such. Ive seen black cats and orange cats be the weirdest bastards in a good and bad way too, I love them, but ive had a fond affinity for tuxedo cats. I've heard Scottish Greys are a LOT of work and tempermental though recently.

I used to be allergic to some types of cats too but it doesnt seem to be an issue anymore somehow.

One of my aunts cats was a proper diva too, when i was on the sofa in my aunts living room, she would burst in, knocking the door open and strutting her way to the sofa, before pouncing up next to me, then meowing at me until I petted her lol. But god forbid if I petted her for too long too lmao. She was a high maintenance, diva cat but she was adorable too. I used to joke she was Beyonce as a cat.

One of my former best friends cats was also obsessed with me for some reason, whenever I rang him, his cat would go feral in an affectionate way, meowing at my friend louder and louder until he picked her up and then I get treated to loud meowing down the phone and purring, sometimes I couldnt even get a word in as she kept meowing in excitement. She always came running when I went around his house and one time I went round and he was still sleeping and I found both his cats sitting on him looking annoyed and I was laughing so hard. It looked like a very slow, patient assassination attempt.

Something like this too lmfao:

Cats are the GOATs tbh (tho arguably guinea piggies are still my absolute faves simply because how kind-natured they are. Cats can be like that, too, ofc, but guineas are just like, always like that lol). I think no other animals are as quirky and have that level of personality (aside from humans since we‘re technically animals, too, lol). Tbh if I had a dog I‘d be afraid of getting bitten too often lmao. Currently we have snails tho. My sister did some therapy because of her back issues at a clinic a while back and then they gave her 2 small snails as a gift at the end. They’re also fascinating animals honestly and I find it interesting to watch them, but touching them is still a different story 😑.

Oh snails?! That is unusual! Do we make a French/Rayan joke? LOL. Oh snails as a gift for doing some physical therapy or something? How unusual? Im not a fan of them at all, they gross me out but I can understand why people find them fascinating. It makes me a little upset seeing them die to salt or getting their shells and thus themselves crushed too especially if people walk on them.

Ah thats good to know about guinea pigs. I adored my cousins hamster but he didnt last long sadly. I think ferrets are awesome and raccoons, id love one of those LOL.

Thats what im scared of with dogs, ive seen first hand how brutal, psychotic dogs can be firsthand as well as the complete opposite, its such a gamble. They can turn on you so easily, even if they're well loved and cared for and loyal to you. But they are some of the most loyal, selfless, kindest, loving, open minded creatures in the world too. I've known some amazing dogs in my time too.

I think most of all id have to get a parrot so I can have a pet that can talk back to me and I create the most hilarious trolling shenanigans on others with it haha but I love birds a lot so that helps. I love macaws too, cockatoos, budgies, lovebirds etc. So many varieties, even pigeons too.

But id love a real floofy cat too, the real pillowy types, they are the one I mentioned with the funny personalities too, they were both tuxedo floofers or w/e, like black and white clouds/pillows lol.

Oh man, im gonna end up buying or ideally adopting a pet at this rate lmao.

Sadly my new apartment is a bit too small for a cat, but once I‘m settled in I could get guinea piggies 😊. If you get a pet share some stories here, would be cool^^.
