holy shit, you think if H1B would be banned Meta, Apple, Microsoft, Alphabet would just pack up and restation where all the Indians and Chinese go such as Canada or Germany as if such migrants are actually worth that
:milaugh::milaugh::milaugh:

Geez, some people seriously overestimating the worth of some visa workers. Yes they save companies money and are an easy pool for labor but that is about it.
Do you think that America is only as wealthy as it is, not because of our actual policies or values, but rather due to some mystical value inherent to (white) Americans?

If we make it harder for companies to do business, they will obviously invest more elsewhere. It’s common sense.

I'm not sure what your point is

I never said a shit about white people or that even whites ought fill the vacuum in the wake of an H1B ban and visa revocation.

Of course the positions would be filled by Americans so it would be a mix of white American, blacks, hispanics and other minority groups here

I also never said America would become "wealthier" if H1B was banned (although it would be beneficial economically for the common American as a flood of new positions would open for STEM work)

My point is what you are positing companies will do as an alternative to H1B ban is completely extreme and not at all possible for the majority of positions lol.

:doakes_suss:
Or they would just hire natives

Lmao at some of these points "why wouldn't they just invest more in countries that have more exploitable-", yes because companies would just pack their bags and leave to the 3rd world after H1B is banned. Seriously, wtf are you talking about man
:milaugh:
The entire reason China got so powerfull is because Westerns moved their factories there for the cheap labour.

my point is that America’s wealth is in large part due to its capitalistic policies.

We set policies that are good for business and businesses continue to invest in America.

if we started making drastic actions like deporting thousands of engineers, yes companies wouldn’t automatically make a complete exit from the states, but they would look towards investing elsewhere.

You say the migrants aren’t actually worth that, but they’re outcompeting American workers for a reason.

A lot of folks on the right hate Indians and H1-Bs, if there was really no kickback to deporting them, Trump would have no reason not to do it.

The reason he hasn’t is because it’s bad for business.

Because they save companies money. Lol

Yeah we both say fuck Trump but for completely different reasons :kobeha:

Your whole point just sucks and is a failing battle. Who gives a shit if some few jobs are made remote? Thousands of jobs would be opened up and companies would be forced to stop relying on foreign labor. Sounds like an objectively good deal to me (it is)

why don't you like trump

You don’t think they would want to continue saving money?

You don’t think making it harder for them will cause them to look towards investing in operations in other countries?

there’s nothing that compels these companies to continue to invest in America.
OK, you are just here to argue rhetoric, not reality. There are many tens of reasons American companies such as Apple, Microsoft, Amazon cannot simply "move abroad" and it would be impossible without losing trillions and probably collapsing.

They would be forced to intern, train and hire American but apparently multimillion/billion dollar companies are like a food truck that can just pack their equipment and move to another country

My guy, you understimate how simply things can get sold out. Multibillion dollars companies often build factories for just one contract and then sell everything once the contract is expired. Beretta used to have a factory in Brazil.

These companies aren’t beholden to the American people

sure, it won’t happen overnight

But when they’re doing their long term planning why would they want to invest in a country that deports thousands of their own workers?

You really don’t think they could transition to Canada, Germany, Australia, etc. ?

Money making, ofc that's a given, but what you said is exactly what they're doing, You first or as well need to make sure your people are compensated well, happy workers and all.
My guy, you don't understand. Whoever can run their operation the cheapest, usually wins. Production costs make or break a business. It isn't as simple as bad capitalists wanting more profit. Whoever makes the best quality for the lowest price wins the market. Saving costs on labour means companies can a sell their goods for lower prices too.

That's part of the problem. Penny pinching on the people. I understand doing enough for efficiency, but there has to be fine drawn.

Oh my goodness

how the fuck is a company like Amazon or Microsoft going to just move countries? You realize that would cost billions, for some companies trillions? And it would obliterate the stock market and destroy investment into these companies?

This moron really thinks Apple is just a food truck you can move to India or some shit. Lmao

Unblocked you briefly just to say no, for the vast majority of companies that rely on H1B, they are far too large to leave the US and it would not be profitable at all, and it would cost billions.
