For Sanji power up names and, probably for other characters too (I didn't check everything), Oda use specific kanji that carry a specific meaning but when reading it he uses katakana (that it's like japanese alphabet for foreign words). Usually a japanese vocab could have two readings (on'yomi or kun'yomi) but with Diable Jambe or Ifrit Jambe for example the reading of the technique is totally different from the kanji ones. Of course you can read it the "proper way" but both in the manga and in the anime the readings are in katakana for Sanji's power ups.
So we can say that behind the names there are some meanings and words play.
Devil Style Leg becomes Diable Jambe where it is used the french word Diable for Devil.
Demon God Style Leg becomes Ifrit Jambe where it is used the arabic word Ifrit for Demon God (Or Genie, evil spirit).
Well I don't know if I explained it well. Take it with a big grain of salt because I'm studying japanese and I'm far from being at high level. I'm trying to study it every day and it is an hard journey, I can say it for sure if you are european and you use a total different alphabet.
- Diable Jambe 悪魔風脚(Akuma Kazaashi) -the first two kanji are compounds 悪魔 (Akuma - Demon, Devil) and 風脚 (kazaashi - wind speed). If you combine these two words you have something like Demon Wind Speed. Now, in japanese the vocabs are words combined by kanji and kanji often times carry different meanings. For 風脚 (kazaashi - wind speed) I think Oda decided to use not the meaning when the kanji are combined but the meanings of the two kanji separately. For 風 (kaze) it means wind as a vocab but as a kanji it can also means "style" or "manner". So if you combine the meanings of the two kanji 風 (kaze - style) and 脚(ashi - leg). You can translate it as "leg style" and combined with 悪魔(akuma - devil) it becomes "Devil Leg Style, or something like that. From there Oda decided to use the katakana ディアブル (Diaburu - Diable) that in French it means "Devil", so it's like using a Japanese kanji for Devil while taking the liberty to pronounce it with the same word in french. The meaning it's kinda the same. 悪魔 (Akuma) = ディアブル (Diaburu) = Devil
- Ifrit Jambe 魔神風脚(Majin Kazaashi) - where the first two kanji are 魔神 (Majin - Devil, evil spirit, genie) and 風脚 (kazaashi - wind speed). Of course here it could be used the same reasoning. 風脚 becomes Leg Style. The kanji in 魔神 are 魔(witch, demon, evil spirit) and 神(god). So if we take in consideration kanji meanings when they are alone it could be like Demon God Leg Style, but 魔神 (Majin) can also be something like a "Genie" or a "Djinn" from islamic religion. So probably Oda decided to use the katakana word for Ifrit (which is a supernatural being from islamic religion culture) イフリート(ifurito) because 魔神 can also be considered as "evil spirit" or "genie". So it's like 魔神(Majin) = イフリート(Ifurito) = Genie, evil spirit.
So we can say that behind the names there are some meanings and words play.

I guess it was indeed either an issue of translation/localization or Oda indeed just came up with whatever sounded cool instead of overthinking the evil spirits hierarchy (which is a little sad, because there's a whole bunch of various devil ranks as well as Jinn's ranks, and it would be as fun to guess what the next one can be as we have Luffy's numbered gears).
So I take back my words about a "fuck up", but will rather see it as a missed opportunity.
In any case, I agree that Sanji should unlock one more level of his not-DF-fire power, either as a part of his CoC or PoL awakening, but we now have no idea how it is going to be called except for the "some sort of an evil spirit" + "wind speed" part :)
Interesting idea. I think Sanji could get either white flame or black flame, and it most likely will be even hotter than his blue ones. But Oda could surprise us with freezing flame or something like that.

Something I found interesting is that black fire is mentioned in Hindu mythology, which is consistent with the popular theory about his next jambe mode being called "Agni Jambe", as Agni is a Hindu deity. Of course that's highly speculative because there's not telling black flames will be a thing.

What about Mother Flame? Do you think is there some correlation to Sanji? The cook is connected to fire and flames since decades. Could there be some connection? To Queen he said his passion burns hotter than flames. What if there is a little piece of mother flame inside Sanji?

Depending on the fictional work it can refer to a variety of things, "a super human that can use magic", "a demon with intelligence", "god of calamity" etc. 魔神 and 魔人 can sometimes be used interchangeably but depends on the story. Daifuku's Genie is also a Majin but it's written as "魔人" whereas Sanji's is written as "魔神". So Oda is making a distinction between an actual Genie and a Demon I think in one piece.

Like I've already explained to Raiden, Oda would've probably wanted to contiinue with the french naming for Sanji's Wano PU but he prolly couldn't find a french equivalent for it (not french so can't say for sure) hence Ifrit but I think Ifrit is good because it makes Oda's intentions with regards to the 魔神 usage clearer as again Ifrit is a high ranking fire weilding demon. For some reason, as much as I think Sanji's main opponent this arc is either of Dorry or Borggy with the exception of the Gorosei descending, I feel like Sommers is going to be victim to this at some point. A character that gets pleasure out of inflicting pain on the weak is put into never-ending agony by undying flames
This is one of the main reason I'm much more a fan of PoL than CoC coz the possiblities with earlier are immense, if Sanji is able to defy the laws of physics then Sanji being able to wield flames that don't exist on the plane of reality with PoL might be feasible whereas I'm not really sure how Oda applies that with CoC but well we'll see.

Sanji's pretty resourceful though so if he awakens CoC then him cooking up something unique with all he's got at his disposal is very feasible.
CoC - can deal damage to immortals
Flames - can deal burn damage to opponents
CoA - can be used as an attack amplfier or defense amplifier
Exoskeleton - enhanced durability/iron body
Defense-wise
Exosketon + Aramament coating + CoC coating
*Sanji's potential defense wise is pretty busted tbh
Attack-wise
CoC (damage to immortals) + Flames (burn damage) + PoL (to make flames undying?) + CoA (attack buff)

It still seemed like a "lost in translation case", and thank you for the explanation. So basically we have a low-ranking demon > mid-ranking demon > high-ranking demon (next PU). It may not necessarily be a clear case from naming perspective for me because I perceive devil and Ifrit as two very different entities, but from Oda's view it all makes perfect sense.

I'm afraid but 風脚 (kazaashi) means "wind speed" when you consider the two kanji a single word/vocab, but we can almost be certain that in this case the meaning is that from the single two kanji so "leg style" kinda. But the kanji 脚 (ashi) taken alone it means "leg" or "foot". So the kanji for "speed" it's not there at all.
Even that personally I don't think Diable/Ifrit Jambe increase Sanji speed, and I mean both Sanji speed movements or Sanji attack speed. Even if we are in OP world it does not make sense for a flame attached to your leg to increase your speed (movement or attack speed).

Hmmm, I understood the manga in a way that Sanji increases his speed by spinning, and that's how he got Diable Jambe, and thanks to exo skeleton he managed to increase his speed even more so he got hotter flames - Ifrit Jambe.
So imo it's vice versa, not DJ and IJ increase Sanji's speed, but rather Sanji's increasing his own speed leads to DJ & IJ.
