Well ryuo is simply haki even hyo said what you call haki we call it ryuo is the same thing even if you use barrier still is haki just better mastery and control over your coa future sight the same mastery and control over your coo and so on , there is no different name like haki 2 adv haki and so on everything is haki just on your level of your mastery and control you can do more stuff , even when hyo explained it he just said what yiu can do if you master it same thing as ray just different wording, imbuing your sword or whatever object just need certain control over it that pretty much everyone can use it so is not something special in the end all comes to who has stronger haki aka spirit meaning you might have better mastery and control but yiur haki still be weak

Oda caused needless confusion with the term.
Rayleigh and Sandersonia use the exact same technique as Hyo, the advanced armament, but he calls it Ryuo and they call it Haki.
Mihawk, Zoro, and Tashigi all refer to imbuing the sword as Haki.
For shorthand we can call it Ryuo to refer to this second stage, but it's not really what Oda had intended.

That's what I've been saying here. If simply imbuing a foreign object with armament makes your COA advanced then everyone from amazon lily fodder to Don Sai's fodder brother has advanced COA. It's about time we all just admit simply imbuing objects with armament isn't an advanced application of it and that Ryou is just another name for COA.
Kaido and luff and hyogoro seem to think they are the same thing.

Swordsmen use COA to coat their weapons regardless of whichever stage of COA it is they're using. Hyo is just giving off a generic explanation of COA while demonstrating the level of COA that Luffy is trying to master. Luffy who can already imbue objects with COA called Rayleigh's level-2 COA crazy high level which makes it pretty clear that simply imbuing objects with COA isn't an advanced application of it.

▪Doffy : Trash Coa that got broken while catching a sword .
▪ Kinemon : a strong Coa that could injure Kaido while Luffy's trash Coa couldn't .
▪ Kinemon couldn't tame enma which needed a strong Coa anda great mastery over it .
▪Zoro's Coa hyped in VC and in the manga canon by taming enma and tanking a mountain force + without a nick on its edge simple as that .

After reading the arguments and looking back at the manga panels, it would seem that just imbuing your weapon with haki does not mean you are able to create the barrier haki nor penetrating haki. Otherwise this would mean almost everyone in Amazon lily has barrier haki which I think is unlikely.
It would seem like the ability to project your haki into the air itself (not coating the air /using the air as the medium) is the advanced COA like barrier.
So just like Ray, Sento , Hyo were able to demonstrate and Luffy taking using penetrating haki to destroy the tree. They were all able to project their haki outwards through the air.
For those we weapons such as swords for example, Roger and WB are the clear examples where it is seen on their weapons (their haki leaking out) and when they were clashing , there weren't any tendrils. What this means is that the tendrils were shot from their weapons into the air leading to the "Clash without touching weapons".
To a lesser extent, Zoro against Monet demonstrates the above. He was able to shoot his haki through the air to cut Monet's cheek.
In DR, you can also see the tendrils around the sword as it is being coated.
Then in Wano, we have Enma drawing out Zoro's haki/Ryou which performed the slash. In that instance, I think the ability of Zoro to draw back his haki from the sword is what sets him apart from the Scabbards. Will probably explain this part later.
