The US wants to bring back the Shah, meaning they want to return Iran to a system for and only for US interest and a brutal one (tortures, illegal detentions, political executions..).
There is no "better" in this situation,

Then maybe it's not up to us to inverne. There is something called mutual respect and if you break that, even on international scale, there are repercussion, you can't simply invade your neighboor for oil without getting the heat that comes with it.
Should we help in stopping Iran repress its population through international sanction and commitee? Yeah.
Should we use that excuse to play the imperialist again and exploit their ressources and destroy their economy ? Heck fucking no.
Those who thinks and defend that this intervention is necessary when we KNOW the result won't save anyone and will slowly destroy the country and the region, are no different from the racist colonists from 300 years ago.
