And at the same time Nami is trying to save children and Franky is getting an update, Usopp is getting trolled so hard in this arc you can't even believe it 
It's a shame considering how it started good with him in DR. He subconsciously used CoO but then it was never shown again.
Their healing isnt really the only problem, you have characters like Saturn that, to a degree, could still put up with Luffy combatively and he was presumably the weakest of the 5 given what we saw. The fact that Luffy's hand hurt when he hit Warcury is a fucking problem lol. I dont see how the current roster in Elbaph deals with any of them. This is why I dont see any of them losing until the final war because clearly these characters are not reserved solely for Strawhats.
On the flipside, adding more Knights at least makes the goal attainable to winning at lets more of the crew fight to a degree, even if most cant kill them. You let Luffy fight potentially a Shanks level character, and conversely it gives us the opportunity to see if there are better Knights then the 2 jokes that are on Elbaph.
That to me feels like normal progression from Egghead, because it resolves something without resolving everything.

Honestly the only reason pre timeskip One Piece was good was because Editors used to put Oda in his place. Nowadays they are too busy sucking him off and crying over filler chapters.

I myself cant see Zoro fighting Sommers. No Powerlevel headcanon thing but i dont see the value. THey are 0 things that connect sommers with zoro and oda invested too much for him compared to the NPCs he gives zoro 99% of the time to fight as a main opponent
And to be honest the same is true for NpcHam, even this chapter proves you link Sanji more to him, thats why i always was iffy on the matchups in elbaf
I think a oars type battle and the hks fucking off is still on the table but i can see how it can be argued the luffy setup can be argued
