The ultimate treasure is One Piece not the Treasure of Mariejois. Oda made it sound like after the OP is found the series is basically over.

Imu seems like a plot tool to introduce the 2nd age, but ultimately it seems like the beef with BB is much older to the 1st era.

The issue with this is Oda actively promotes the fact that One Piece/PK status combined with certain fruit powers and Ancient Weapons are needed to end things with the WG. Fundamentally just finding out what the treasure is and then ending things without it being used makes little sense

Zoro vs Sommers has no thematic importance to it, whereas Sanji vs Killingham can still fits thematically, but Sommers just provides more. What we are seeing is most likely his hybrid form. What we saw in marijoa was his full beast form which logically is much bigger.

I think it makes more sense for Oda to show us the human form first, so that later when we get the beast form, the reveal is much more shocking. I have high expectations for this beast form. These silhouettes look nothing like the actual reveal, I expect Imu’s beast form to be insane.

I think Oda won’t even show us a hybrid form on Elbaph tbh. I think Imu in his beast form will be of a similar size to Nidhoggr Loki, hell a hybrid Loki will probably be dwarfed by beast form Imu.

Oda has yet to show Loki's hybrid form (the form that clapped DR Harald)...likely kept the reveal for vs Imu... Even if he ends up losing he'll force Imu to get serious and use his entire arsenal... A wounded Loki at that...

Doubt he will use everything but he will fight seriously yeah. But this is a nerfed Imu too.
