All of this looks like smart use of Portals,

His Firearms-Inspired Attacks & Exploding Spear remind me of Don Krieg,
I think Imu fights using Endless Weapons & Tech just like Krieg but instead of storing them in his Armor, He brings them out using his Flame-Like Abyss Portals,

As for Non-DFs, there must be some CoC Haki Application that can bypass Imu's Defense.

Saturn's failure wasn't just a simple meager failure.
