Tbh it still looks within reason, especially since Imu was dominating and is comfortably taking Loki's blows. That being said, the much stronger hybrid is still up his sleeve.
It also begs the question how Shanks captured him, since with such high power difference, even his entire crew would be useless.
Inb4 it was just a friendly drink and Shanks packed him up while he was drunk, which wouldn't be out of character for Oda. Or it's like I said, just a plot device to have Loki unite with Luffy.

I know Oda building hype, but it completely annoys me Loki isn't using his hybrid yet. Using Full Beast form when he had trouble seeing his opponent before because they were so small is insanity.

Nah you can be too hard on them. They either don't have a brain or think too emotionally.
They were by far the fanbase with the worst takes. They're the ones who came up with 3 Admirals = 1 Yonkou, Admirals = YC1, Mihawk = YC1, all these legacy trash takes that were popularized came from them. These are the same people who thought Luffy because he defeated Kaidou and became Emperor was going to beat Kizaru badly in his base form. They're actually retarded to say the least, and have been getting hit with reality for the past 5 years.
It was obvious to anyone with a brain and not thinking emotionally that Admirals and Emperors are relative and are supposed to cancel each other out. Yonkou fans had been acting like they were what Imu is supposed to be.

For mythical zoans it’s a bit more complicated : Yamato can use ice wall or imbue her mace with ice powers even without transformation , Loki can use his lightning powers, Kaido can lift onigashima with dragon flames and is kinda immune to some damages etc etc
