Since this is bastard game, what kind of things that usually mess up players beside host killing all players, fake role?

This isn't a full bastard game as stated in the OP. In a most bastard games, the host will lie to you but because this isn't exactly one of those, stuff like fake roles and misleading role flips are unlikely.

The type of mechanics involved are dependent on the theme. So I don't really know what we'll have.

This is very hard to know. It depends on whether Scum is the Japanese Resistance or the Brittanian aggressors. Either could work I think.

Nope. The number of Scum in a game is more determined by the game size than anything else. Giving there are 25 players, there are probably at most 20 Town members. So expect somewhere between 5 - 10 non Town members.
