Yet another Lee prediction which aged like fine wine. I had originally predicted this years ago, and when I find the posts where I made this claim, I will link them in this OP. If anyone else finds them first, please do your boy a favor. Lol
I predicted a loooong while ago that Zolo and Sanji’s final 1v1 opponents would be among the Twenty Kings. And sure enough, what do we get this chapter?
I’m convinced Oda is my split personality at this point.
You see a lot of the characters who people think are final opponents for Zolo and Sanji just don’t make any sense.
Zolo vs Kizaru? Kizaru and Zolo will never have a true major arc 1v1. They may clash in the future but they will never have a big knock out drag down battle IE Zolo vs King, Kizaru already committed outright treason in Egghead, so why would he commit himself to a fight to the death against Zolo? It just doesn’t add up. Zolo’s major 1v1 opponents from here on out will be un-conflicted evil, they will be able to put as much emotionally into their fight with Zolo as King did.
I predicted that Zolo has two major fights from here on out:
A. Domi Reversi’d/Omen buffed Shiryu. This will take place after Teach eats Imu’s fruit and buffs his whole crew. Zolo fighting base Shiryu just isn’t happening at this point, Zolo already arguably beat an opponent stronger than that in King, base Shiryu is not a worthy opponent for future Zolo. Hell current buffed Sommers is arguably above Shiryu. People will take issue with that statement but deep down everyone knows it’s true.
B. “King Gram” of the Twenty Kings, who will also arguably be buffed by Imu with Omen and potentially other buffs that we don’t even know about as well.
Sanji’s opponents will be the same, but it will be a DR/Omen buffed Burgess/King “Longinus” of the Twenty Kings.
Now whatever order these battles will take place in is sort of up for grabs at this point, I would imagine Imu falls before EOS Teach, but I would imagine the Twenty Kings would make better final opponents for Zolo and Sanji than Blackbeard’s buffed crew.
Anyone who denies this is possible I think isn’t reading the story at this point, Oda is currently showing us the road map for EOS, where new more powerful opponents will emerge from the shadows and will also receive buffs from Imu’s fruit or other sources as well. Oda has not revealed the true final villains of this manga yet.
Anyone who reads this:
And thinks “yeah, Zolo fighting a base Shiryu, or base Mihawk who he spent two years being best friends with” is failing to understand the plot escalation taking place right before our eyes. The end of this manga is about the battle against the Gods, and the battle against the true history of the world. A serious fight with base Shiryu and Mihawk would be a massive plot de-escalation at this point, regardless of how powerful you think these guys are.
This is about how the plot must continue to escalate, and base Shiryu and Mihawk aren’t those guys. I wouldn’t be surprised if Zolo and Mihawk had to double team King Gram, where Mihawk gets defeated first and Zolo has to finish the fight by himself, only for Zolo’s true final opponent to be Demon Shiryu.
Anyway Oda must continue to elevate the plot, and buffed Sommers and Killingham are just the first examples of that.
