Harald achieved a growth due to getting a buff from an outside source that he himself cannot achieve.
That growth is what strengthens the CoC, becoming stronger is the only thing that buffs CoC and I am not talking about increasing physical strength with hybrid as some people think...
Nothing was sticking to Harald because nobody had stronger haki than him. Not Shanks, not Gaban and certainly not Loki either.
He regenerated instantly from all of them. The key moment here is Harald telling Loki to hurry up. Why? He doesnt need to hurry up if all it takes is targeting the heart. The solution was Harald himself removing his haki defenses which couldnt be overcome so damage can stick.
So no problem with letting Zoro try again.

Loki fans already knew Harald let Loki kill him, that was never the impressive part about that feat. The impressive part about that feat was Loki beating the Imu out of Harald and dominating him prior to Harald letting Loki kill him. Something prime Saint Shanks and Gaban failed to do while getting neg diffed.

At no point was it even remotely suggested that they simply couldn’t kill him because of regen, they were getting overpowered and dominated because of Harald’s CoC, this is directly what the manga says.

Gaban and Shanks could never do shit to Harald in actual combat unlike Loki, that's why Gaban had vision of the world ending.
