"Oda has given this Flaming Eye Effect to Domi Reversid characters, Zoan Loki and Big Mom

DR and BigMom are related to Soul Manipulation

What is the Case with Zoro and Loki? Cool Design choice, or Soul/Maki related ?

"

Could it also be related to the grim reaper entity zoro saw after his battle with king?

as @ImmaIvanoM stated in his thread:
I’ve complained recently about how the Mihawk flashback has a problem in that it doesn’t really explain why Zoro suddenly has his CoC mastered from just remembering Mihawk telling him “CoC is your sense of Self”

Turns out my confusion was warranted, the Japanese word used “onorei” doesn’t actually directly translate to “sense of self”. It’s more like “your projection of your sense of self”.

Mihawk is saying you must have this unchanging sense of who you are AND you must be capable of projecting it to the world no matter the consequences.

Which makes WAY MORE sense. Why would Zoro remembering to more of less just self-recognize just allow him to know how CoC works. The trick is the second part. You have to be able to maintain this self-recognition as you project it outward into the world no matter the resistance of the world to it.

This is unfortunately a nuance in the language translation that cannot be resolved without either the Official translator or the Manga scan translators adding an extra dialogue bubble to use extra words to fully explain one word “onorei”

is this also zoro acknowledging his reputation as being a 'demon' or having 'demonic' aura....as his PROJECTION of one's self???

It is most likely not just an artistic choice but a significant plot point....probably.

Between Sommers mentioning that Zoro's attacks could have some "heat" behind them, and Sanji's literal flaming leg, and even Luffy's attacks having some "heat" and "flame" elements associated with them, it does seem like more and more of the Strawhats are getting "fire" based powers.

I do wonder if it has something to do with being around Luffy for so long? Since he is the "Sun God", even though he doesn't know it. And it could even have something to do with the "Forbidden Sun" from the Chapter 1138 Mural, and the Mother Flame.

People having "Burning Hearts" could be a literal thing in this manga. If "fire" is associated with "dreams" or "Devil Fruit Energy" as I think it could be. When you're pursuing your dream with all you've got, you may just literally start catching on fire, due to producing a lot of "Dream Energy". Or something like that.

It'll be interesting to see if ALL the Strawhats end up getting fire-based powers of some sort, or if it'll be something Oda saves for the 3 or 4 strongest characters. If so...I guess Jinbe should be next to show some sort of fire-power? Or, in his case, steam-power maybe?

I care little to none about this fire eye artistic choice. But the CoC explanation sucks. Not the interpretation that could be on point but Oda choice. I do agree that Luffy is the character who is more sure about himself than anyone else but Zoro is not far behind him on that. And the projection thing is simply bullshit Oda made it up to have Zoro behind on CoC.

It is sign of extreme use of soul power which also consumes life span, when Bigmom consumed one year of her life span her eyes became like that too also when Loki uses his DF his eyes looks same which we can think that DF uses lifespan as power source.
