As you said, they can alter that image. There should be someone who sees things as you do, and alters it to suit your agument. Why the hell are all of these people making it so that it goes against it ?

Is every single artist redrawing or coloring that scene invested in making it seem like Sanji > Jimbe, or is it more likely that you are invested in the opposite ?

The point is that we look at that, and somehow we see different things. So we can only conclude that we need help here, since we somehow can not see the same thing.

So we can try to get other people's perspective who are not here debating this being invested in one argument or the other. How can we do that ? Colored versions or redraws.

What are the advantages ? As said, those doing them are very unlikely to all be in it arguing for a single outcome. If it's unclear, we should see differences between the many colored versions/redraws, instead of a unified take on the matter. Second advantage is that some of these are artist who earn their living from being competent at this kind of stuff. And this helps the initial point, if these guys don't differentiate from the casuals, everyone is agreeing on how that spread is meant to look like in regards to Jimbe standig behind Sanji, what incentive do we have to disagree ?

The four main figures are Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Jinbei. Luffy and Jinbei are the central ones, because it's Jinbei's first official full Strawhat spread.

Not everything revolves around Zoro and Sanji. Getting out the protectors and rulers to try and say one is half a millimetre in front of another is pointless, just use your eyes and see what the centre of the page is.

Wait this are 2 pages, and luffy stand with Zoro in the second page so is not true saying Jimbe and Luffy, cuz Luffy stand with Zoro in the second page. What I get from this panel is just a nice remind of what happen in fisher island.

In any case wait for the VZ chapter and you ll see that Luffy is drawn with Zoro separate from the rest strawhat on his left side.

You all just need a pair of glasses or some lessons on spatial awareness. It's obvious that Luffy is in front followed by Zoro and Sanji. Jimbe stands in the middle alongside the other GL members like Chopper, Robin, Brook and Franky.

Literally all of those are "closer" by your standards to Luffy than Zoro and Sanji, but not really. Because they are all in the background if you have a proper understanding of what's shown to us :namiriously:

Tbh @Kuro Ashi san is right. Sanji's position is in front of jinbei. Jinbei is tall af. Luffy is as tall as jinbei's navel. And sanji is just a bit taller than luffy so sanji's height will also around jinbei's navel.
From the spread, sanji's height is same level as jinbei's chest. It can happen because sanji is in front of jinbei. If sanji stands atleast exactly at the side of jinbei, he will be around navel, let alone behind jinbei.
It's just a matter of perspective. Jinbei stands a bit behind Luffy zoro sanji.

My favorite thing about this debate is watching the Sanji fanboys move the goalposts and come up with new qualifications (popularity now?) for what, in canon, has only been mentioned three times in a twenty year series and has never been exercised as an explicit rule for the story. The amount of bullshit that’s been said about Jinbe ever since he said on FI, from him being Sanji’s equal because of Wadatsumi (still laughing my ass off at this one) to saying that he would die and would never actually join, is even more hilarious in retrospect as we see Jinbe be highlighted alongside Luffy and Zoro, because it demonstrates the depth of their insecurity regarding the only value they get from their favorite character, his strength in relation to others.

Meanwhile, Oda gives absolutely zero damns about the fanboys, and gives Jinbe the spotlight he damn well deserves as the second or third strongest member of the crew, while Sanji has to get a raid suit to be competitive against mid tier New World opponents. It’s okay though, Sanji fanboys, he’ll still be in the top five at least, after Yamato joins.

OEKaneki , well bro even though we disagree a lot but u made a good conclusion about this thread but i think u made it a little far shocking for Sanji fanboys can u be a little merciful ? I wanted to make this thread to show them what's oda intention and then step by step they can understand it but !

If Luffy asked them both to join for no reason except for the fact that they are strong, and they were name dropped by another person, then of course they are in the monster trio. That's true for Zoro. Luffy asked Jimbe to join because he helped him escape ID, fought with him at MF, saved his life at MF, and post MF encouraged him to remember about his crew.

Jimbe has an active role on the ship, he is the helmsman of the crew

He did not join the SH's just because he's a random tough guy that's good to have around to kick ass.
