Let´s see.. Goku vs Pre-Crisis Superman. Goku is probably faster in combat speed, also he should be more skilled in close combat. The problem is, that alone isn´t enough to beat this version of superman, because this guy has too much abilities to answer Goku:


Superman tanks a supernova, which means he has a high heat resistence.

Goku and Vegeta on the other hand, has a hard time against Magetta, which only uses Magmar.

Superman his heatvision his hot enough to burn a whole planet to ash

Superman wins, if he only hit Goku one time with this heat vision. Goku couldn´t even tank a Laserbeam canon from Freezer his fodder soldiers, let alone a stone against his head.

Even speedwise, can´t Goku reach this version of Superman, if we going with travelspeed
Dragonball was nerfed thanks to DBS, where exist the first LS and FTL statement.

Goku is too skilled in martial arts? Doesen´t matter since this version of Superman can travel trough time

All what Superman has to do is to kill him in the past.

This Superman also can absorb energy (It is debatable, if it works against Ki too, but it works already against Magic, which is a weakness for many versions of Superman) and Lightning

That was just one reason. The main reason was that the DB fanbase couldn´t bring any relevant feats or consistent statements. They used a lot of fanfiction/headcanon or fancalcs. They also used negative feats from the comics, but ignore the negative feats from DB. Something that wouldn´t used on serious boards. CV is fine but they have a lot of Dragonball, Naruto, Fairy Tail and Bleach wanker.
They are a few good DB debaters, but the most of them....
To the Zorotards... nah, i wonder where all those One Piece wankers are in CV.
Tbh many other sides dislike the DB wank.

So pretty much, the older versions of Superman would annihilate Goku. The newer versions would get annihilated by Goku(if Suos doesnt increase his infinite strength).

Older Sups can casually outspeed the Flash, punk Hercules in strength and stomp magic users like Shazam and Black Adam.

Newer Sups(Base power) is slower than Flash, lost to Wonder Woman, lost to Hercules in strength, can be pressured by Hal Jordan, was overpowered by Shazam and Black Adam etc.
