A real shame. I always liked him as a Supernova. His devil fruit is beautiful and gives off some very great vibes. I like him way more than the likes of Killer or Hawkins. I hope that Oda will give him a decent arc and he starts doing well.

I miss that time you would think he truly put Luffy in a corner, before he would show fear.

I don't think so. There is nothing hinting towards it. In fact, Yamato actually feels more like how Oden's son should have been. Her joining the crew is far better option for her character and the way its setup than being a retainer(which is outside what she wants).
