Hawkins isn't running away Also, without Drake being there, Zoro would not have cut him down that easily. There would have actually been a fight.

While Zoro attacked apoo before and failed even while he had Drake help
Then he beat Apoo coz Drake kept preserving Apoo

It wasn't a cheap shot. Apoo had all the time to dodge Zoro but he was impossibilitated to and that simply in that he lacked the speed to avoid Shishi Sonson which is a tremendously fast move. One of the fastest CQ slashes Zoro has fundamentally.

What fight would that be? He cut through the tonfa.
You remove Drake and Apoo will still try to block with the tonfa and still get cut through.
Hence even though Apoo was fighting Drake when Zoro attacked, removing Drake would hardly change the outcome as Apoo can neither dodge nor block that attack from an enraged Zoro.
