I tried to write a summary of the chapter where Kaido is beaten that would hopefully satisfy both Luffy fans and Zoro fans alike. What do you think?

Chapter 1040: The hour of legends
-All the supernova are down, Luffy struggles to stand
- Kaido flies into the sky in his Dragon form, and charges an attack combining all his elements, he says he will destroy the country

-Luffy goes gear fourth again
-Kaido fires the attack, it is like a bijuu dama bigger than the capital. There is a massive explosion

-the dust clears to reveal that Luffy has blocked the attack with a haki barrier that covers the entire capital, Kaido is shocked

-Luffy flies into the air and hits Kaido with King Kong Gatling with penetration haki. We see Xray of Kaidos body where his insides are destroyed in the attack. Kaido crashes into the big tree in the capital, Luffy goes out of G4 and passes out.

-Kaido and the tree are falling out of the sky, he is severely wounded and bleeding heavily but still charges a last-ditch boro breath before he dies. He fires at Hiyori and the fallen scabbards.

-Zoro appears and cuts the attack like Kinemon. Zoro runs up the falling tree with his remaining sword Enma in hand. He leaps into the air and as he blackens Enma with haki, we get short flashbacks of Oden and Wano's suffering

-Zoro beheads Kaido in a recreation of Ryuma's legendary feat. The citizens witness as Kaido and the giant tree are chopped in half and crash into the capital.

-Zoro crashes into the ground and passes out. We see Enma land some distance away from him. The camera zooms in on Enma to reveal that the blade is still black.

End

Yeah this ain't it chief.

Do you guys remember 967 which is such an important chapter...that you guys only had an awful translation for weeks
Hopefully that doesn’t happen this time lol
I think we are in safe hands for now. Around that time there were rumblings of people getting arrested and sources being lost. Things seem to finally be reliable again so it should be fine for now unless something miraculously changes in December.

That said, 1000 should be a big chapter. Any chapter can be "big" but the other 2 big milestone chapters (100 and 500) truly changed the game for one piece in different ways. The first made us realize the world is much bigger than we thought. Then 2nd opened that level even more with the intro of Rayleigh. I dont expect 1000 to be Wano centric unless there is some huge plot twist with Kaido/Big Mom and Rocks. To me is seems very likely to reveal some huge stuff in relation to the world.

Part of me is hoping for not only reveals of characters (Ryokugyu/Vegapunk) or fates of characters (Sabo/Vivi/Hancock), but really reveals the motivations of a few major characters and how they factor into the endgame plot (Shanks, Dragon, Im, Kuma, etc) because they are some of the most important we have. It could also be covered over multiple chapters as well

That’s great, hope Oda goes for it, although I think something like this will happen either way
