No one cares about that Yamato takeru shit. You watch too many one piece YouTubers.
Like seriously no one talks about this man. I know that one piece youtubers rape these theories about symbolism here and there. Something dragon tiger blah blah.
Oda likes well written story but he doesn't plan everything like this. Right now we are going to pick up the pace of the war there will be not much time for Straw Hats to build a proper feelings for yamato enough to consider her a Nakama.
Ofc she may force herself on the ship and the end. We will see.
For now I don't see any signs of Yamato joining the crew.
Interacting with Luffy does not guarantee you a place on the crew.
I'm a big fan of japanese mythology, I was the kind of person talking about orochimaru's references to yamata no orochi and how itachi defeated him when he came out of sasuke was symbolic, along with orochimaru's sword coming out of his mouth. I just know a lot about youtube, I don't watch anime youtubers.
I mean not to say the people I watch aren't fans of anime, but what I watch on youtube is stuff like Vaush, SomeOrdinaryGamers, etc.
Oden is objectively based on Yamato Takeru, and Yamato being inspired off of Oden, is another tie to Yamato Takeru.
Sorry, but oda takes A LOT from mythology, be it impel down being a direct comparison to zeus's attack on the greek underworld during the titanomachy to free allies in tartarus (6 layers of the greek underworld, 6 impel down floors, lowest realm of the greek underworld being tartarus) and killling campe, a poison snake dragon thing that magallan is directly a reference to.
Oda throws so much mythology into the story, and Yamato Takeru is objectively the basis for Oden (plus a little heracles I'd say)
"Oden doesn't plan everything like this"
Here is a direct wikipedia quote (it's just a quick source):
"His father, the emperor KeikΕ, feared his brutal temperament. To keep him at a distance, the father sent him to
Izumo Province, today the eastern part of
Shimane Prefecture, and then the land of
Kumaso, today
Kumamoto Prefecture. However, Takeru succeeded in defeating his enemies"
" He lost his wife Oto tachibana-hime during a storm when she sacrificed herself to soothe the anger of the sea god. He defeated many enemies in the eastern land "
"On his return he blasphemed a local god of
Mount Ibuki, which sits on the border of
Εmi Province and
Mino Province. "
Like, I don't know how anyone can deny the clear inspirations of Oda's characters from mythology and history, One Piece is literally filled of them, it's like someone trying to claim comparing game of thrones to the war of roses is stupid or something.
Oden literally knew the whitebeard pirates for less time than Luffy and Yamato, considering there is the war, the cool down after the war, etc. He'd be developed in the next few arcs.
Yamato to Luffy is literally 1:1 of Oden and Whitebeard so far. Yamato shows up out of the blue without announcing themselves, says stuff to make Luffy go off balance, says stuff about how he's going to join Luffy's crew, does wild stuff like going out of hiding fo rthe full on assault that caught Luffy (who usually would do this sort of stuff) off guard, Yamato's great desire to leave the island, etc.
You're right, interacting with Luffy doesn't, but Yamato is directing paralleling Oden rn, and Yamato is anxiously wanting to leave Wano. I see one of two options: Momo leaves wano with his scabbards because it's taken over by the marines or they fail against kaidou, or because he wants to leave and it's in good hands with like his sister taking over wano so that momo can go off and be free for a while like oden, and he either tags along on momo's boat or tags along on the strawhat boat as a "member", but a temp one, kind of like how some of the scabbards were only whitebeard/roger pirates for a bit before going back. ORRRRR, he just outright joins Luffy's crew.
There doesn't seem to be any other alternative to these considering he's's not leaving by herself, the scabbards aren't going anywhere without momo being in charge, and yamato definitely isn't staying in wano by his own intense desire to leave to see the world.
