We can't hold everything a character says against them. Luffy, zoro, nearly every damn character had said they were gonna do something they could definitely not pull off lol

However, their goal wasn't to cut it, it was just to push it back.
They all used ryuo to not cut the cage and to help push it back.

It was just a simple plot induced stupidity, none of them thought about cutting but pushing instead.
That makes them all act out of character, especially Zoro who had an uncuttable obstacle back in Alabasta.
We can see exactly how he behaves when he cant cut something. Plotcage for a reason.

Marco wasnt in hybrid....his Hybrid would be a Full Humanoid Pheonix man. Thats what Hybrids are....

And yes he did dodge him like fodder cause he carried on interacting with Chopper...and ignored Zoro like he didnt exist.
