Don't do that Blueno shit

There is a justified reason for that Blueno shit, though: Luffy has never had a clean win against a YC-level character in a 1-on-1 fight.

When Oda made sure Luffy is above a certain level of character, he made sure Luffy could defeat them 1-on-1 regardless of how many tries Luffy needed to do so (3 tries with Crocodile and 2 tries with Lucci, for example).

Since the Post-TS journey started, Luffy has never had a clean 1-on-1 against a YC-level character.

Against Doffy was a 2 on 1 fight.

Against Cracker was a 2 on 1 fight.

Against Katakuri is obvious for reasons I do not need to state.

You can see even now that many members of the OP fandom downplaying Luffy because of this (something I believe irks Oda).

As much as I want to see near-recovered Jack vs Stealth Black, the more likely scenario is indeed G4 Luffy vs Fully Recovered Jack, where Luffy gives Jack the Blueno treatment and erases all doubts to where Luffy is in the OP power ranking.

Just my two cents.

Sorry man didn't read the answer, I see your point but is this the right way to do it?
Luffy should literally brutalize him in a few panels, so that he can be in front of Kaido in time for chapter 1000
This would kill the tension imo, you're taking down one of the strongest enemies (Kaido and Big Mom aside) in a few panels, making his whole recovery useless and would also make Sulong Minks look like assholes.
Imo the best thing is to make him fight Killer, they also have some similarities (weapons in particular) and would keep the 'let the Captains go ahead' thing.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd prefer this scenario

Sanji teams up with X Drake to take on Queen. Zoro might fight King but if he doesn't I'd prefer Sanji v King over Marco v King since I hope Marco helps out on the roof (maybe helping against Big Mom). Killer taking on injured Jack wouldn't be too bad if since him and Kid are already near the roof.

II was sure that Oda would've done the Calamities matchup in 999 (following the 998 pattern), but seems like will all happen in chapter 1000

I'll stick to King/Queen/Jack vs. Zoro/Sanji/Jinbe. Might switch Jack <-> Who's Who if Jack gets Crackered/Bluenod owned early.

Jinbe looks almost set against Who is Who. For the moment Zoro doesn't seem like going up against King since Marco was referencing Zoro to Kaido specifically so we shall see about that. Queen v Sanji should occur but I can see Drake eventually jumping in too. He has no opponent and Queen sounds like a good fit.

Though it is possible that if WsW goes down to Jinbe then Drake my join Sanji's fight. Although I'd prefer not.

I wanted Jack v Jinbe but if Jinbe is not available then I'd rather get Jack v Killer.

I can't imagine a scenario in which Marco tries to reach the rooftop, gets stopped by King and is convinced to leave King to Zoro.

1) Why would Zoro stop to fight King instead of helping Kiku and the others?

2) Why would King keep fighting Zoro when he could just fly and stop Marco?

So Zoro won't defeat King

Marco won't defeat King either since he is needed on the roof.
That leave just an opponent for King: Sanji

Here's one: King was responsible for the Shimotsuki massacre. There you go.
