Nope, Kidd didn't just lose to Kaido, his grudge is personal. His crew was captured and his childhood partner was tortured and blackmailed to serve Orochi after being fed with a Smile. He's full of anger cause of the betrayal, the humiliation and the pain him and his crew suffered. He is currently competing with Luffy for reaching Kaido.
He declared that he wants to take Kaido's head and put it as the log of his ship (which is a dinosaur skull btw), and coincidentally there's a giant sword right in front of Onigashima which seems perfect for the job.
I'm not even going to mention the fame he has for killing and his bloodlust in general, that Oda made sure to highlight everytime we saw him.
You think that Zoro will have the killshot? Free to do so, you could even be right maybe, but I highly doubt it.
Oda won't let the vice-Captain overshadow Luffy, and won't make a mugi kill someone (at least on screen) as he specified a lot of times, imo Zoro will take the honor of reopening the old wound/making a new one but that's it

1. Marco and Drake ARE NOT main characters. It's impossible for Oda to give commander fights to these people.
Look at it this way, we have 25 chapters of build up to Neko and Inu vs Jack and it's two panels long. 25 fuckin chapters of build up amount to two panels. That's how little Oda cares about giving side characters actual important enemies to fight. And to make it worse, Neko and Inu don't even lay jack out for the arc. Jack is stated to be returning and guess what, he'll be finished off by an actual main character.
2. Zoro cannot play a supporting character for 50 of a fight. You guys seem to first of all, not care that Zoro still has a dream. Yes. Hes on a vendetta against kaido but that's not going to stop him from actually doing something to further his dream.
Zoro cannot walk out of the Swordsman arc without a dedicated 1v1 fight. You know this. I mean do yu really think Zoro won't have his sword fight. In this arc? After evert my one complains for 400 chapters that Zoro is coasting through the new world ad doesn't actually fight 1v1 against anyone of notable challenge, you're saying Oda hears this and makes an arc about swordsmen and has Zoro play support to occasionally get a sneak attack on kaido and then run around and then get another sneak attack and rpeat for 50+ chapters?
My God you people arent Zoro fans. I'm starting to believe this. How can you not want Zoro after all this time not to actually get a serious fight? Since fuckin Ennies Lobby? It's been 600 chapters since Zoro actually had a challenging 1v1 and now in this arc about swordsmen you want him to play 4th place to luffy law kid for his main fight?
