One piece of all manga is the one place where feats don't really matter and perception is key. Of course Luffy blows everyone out of the water feat-wise. The point is in THIS arc Oda has made a point to potray Kid and Luffy as rivals. I mean you think Oda is doing that for no reason at all. So kid can get dunked on by Kaido AGAIN? If so then why potray him as a rival? It's either terrible writing by Oda or a clear path of Kid getting some form of come-uppance vs Kaido.

Thanks to whoever consistently tags these discussion threads with #Yamato4Nakama!! I never get here in time, so you’re doing the Lord’s work, especially in a chapter where we get her flashback!! I guess it’s nice to see Ace again, but honestly, I’m fine with the fact that his only purpose in Yamato’s recollections is to further strengthen the case that she’ll be joining the Straw Hats by the end of this arc. Her declaration about wanting to be free should be the final nail in the coffin of everyone here who’s opposed to the idea, but if not, there’s another knockout punch with her mentioning Luffy’s well-publicized middle initial :cheers:
Hearing Ace name drop folks like Cavendish, Kid, Law, and Bege is pretty cool...we already knew the former was a hotshot before Luffy and the latter trio showed up on the scene, but I think this is the first we’ve heard about how the Supernovae were establishing themselves before the straw hat first set sail. Wonder how Yamato will react once she runs across Law and Kid (or finds out that Cavendish is in her future captain’s Grand Fleet) :yasu:
Also nice to see Momo learn about Yamato/Tama learn about Luffy/both of them learning about who Ace really was, these kids clearly have some part to play in the rest of the series. Momo’s role is obvious, but I wonder how Tama fits in - maybe as an apprentice as some have suggested?? Don’t worry, I’m not starting another hashtag campaign...yet #NaTama
I’ve said about all I wanna say when it comes to Whitebeard, his crew, and the reasons behind their inaction in this chapter, check me out in the spoiler thread if you’re interested/wanna fight some more. Suffice it to say, Marco calling Brook “Bone Man” made me chuckle

Or just defeated? Are we gonna see Kin’emon rise to his feet to feebly challenge the Yonko before Luffy finally swoops in? Is that what chapter 1000 will bring? Or will we get the Rocks flashback we have craved for so long? Will I ever stop speaking in questions? Is anyone reading this? See y’all next chapter?

There wasn't any other way Oda could have explained WB crew not helping Oden. So i dont mind it much.
It reflects bit badly on WB but it's alright. Risking his sons life for a cause that's already dead wasn't worth it.

Kid was portrayed for 5 chapters tops. In fact Zoro was shown to be more brazen than Kid himself.
Also Kid serves as a foil to Luffy and since Luffy trained Armament and strength in Udon it will Parallel kid head rushing into Kaido without a plan. Without the alliance right now, he was good as dead. He will get dunked by Kaido again.

Well ZKK and Kidd contributing efficiently can both occur at the same time. Besides, Zoro won't fight off Kaido alone, no one on Wano is ready to take on a yonko by themselves. It shall be a channeled effort involving different Supernova, perhaps even the likes of Yamato will be encompassed in the fight by Oda.
